WWE News: Bray Wyatt on getting introduced to Sister Abigail, being drafted to SmackDown Live and more

Bray Wyatt’s picked up his Sister Abigail move from a friend

Leader of popular WWE faction The Wyatt Family, Bray Wyatt, recently appeared in an interview with WTOP while promoting this past week’s episode of SmackDown Live in Washington D.C. During the conversation, Wyatt made some interesting revelations about himself and his in-ring work.

In response to a question about how he felt when he was drafted to SmackDown Live, ‘The Eater Of The Worlds’ said that it did not make much of a difference to him. However, he prefers the underdog status the show has in comparison to Raw and is proud of what the blue brand has achieved in recent times.

“I didn't really care. I was going to both of them anyway. I think looking back at what Undertaker did, he kind of made SmackDown his home, and I like the idea of being the underdog because everybody kind of gives RAW the attention. But I really feel like what we've been able to accomplish with SmackDown Live we've really turned this thing around and it's really showed our hard work,” said one-half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions.

Speaking about his ‘Sister Abigail’ finishing manoeuvre, Bray revealed that he picked it up from one of his friends, Joey Mercury. However, he tweaked it according to his own requirements and gave the move its current look. This is what he had to say:

"Actually a good comrade of mine, Joey Mercury, introduced me to the move. I obviously put my own spin on it and took it from where it was to where it is now. There's no long details on that, it's just something that was really fitting for me."

‘The New Face of Fear’ was asked if there was any fellow wrestler that he wanted to face in the near future, he claimed that the SmackDown Tag Team Championship win had changed his perception and he wanted to win more titles. He disclosed that he will be targeting The Miz’s Intercontinental title first and then go for AJ Styles.

“This thing is addicting. Once you got one (title) you just want to take them all. We rule SmackDown already, why not just make it official, cause for some reason when someone sees you walking around with this, whether they've had it before or whatever, you get some kind of newfound respect and I think that's what I'm after anyway. I'll just take one from The Miz, cause that should be easy, then AJ Styles,” Wyatt stated.

One of the questions directed towards Bray Wyatt was about whether there is a script for the interesting promos that he does every week. Here’s the reply that the superstar provided:

"Everyone always asks me this question and the answer is so simplistic. I'm not an idiot. Everyone thinks of me as some weird swamp trash pro wrestler, and that's okay think what you want but I'm an intelligent person and I have my own views on the world. I don't have a script, I don't sit down and nobody brings me a paper and says 'It'd be really cool if you say this.' I speak from my mind and my heart and it's a lot easier to speak on something that I truly care about."

On how he takes care of himself, Wyatt said that he doesn’ t think too much about his diet but does train to keep himself as strong as possible.

“I personally don't like to diet. I think it's stupid. You only live once. I do like to train just because of the simple reason that it doesn't hurt as much. I need to keep myself strong as I can be. That's just who I am as a man, and I think a lot of people have the same idea,” Bray Wyatt told WTOP.
