WWE News: Brie Bella says she will come out of retirement after having first child

It looks like Brie Mode may return next year!

Brie Bella retired this year at Wrestlemania 32 in the kickoff show, where she teamed with Paige, Natalya, Alicia Fox and Eva Marie against Lana, Summer Rae, Emma, Naomi, and Tamina. The finish saw Brie use the Yes! Lock on Naomi, thus ending her career on a high with a win.

Brie and her husband Daniel Bryan have been vocal about their intentions to have a baby for quite a while now. The plans of starting a family was the pretext of Brie retiring. The timing was interesting as Daniel Bryan was himself forced to retire 8 months ago. Ever since then, Bryan has returned to WWE as the Smackdown Live General Manager, and Brie has been busy with the new show Total Bellas on E!. Lo and behold, a few days ago, Brie announced that Bryan and herself were expecting their first child!

Before the announcement was made, Brie and Nikki Bella both appeared on Sirius XM for a brief interview with Sam Roberts and Jim Norton. The clip was played in the interview segment of Sam Roberts’ Wrestling Podcast.

Towards the end of the interview, Brie told Sam Roberts, who always sported a “Brie Mode” shirt at PPVs that she was “hurt” when he retired the shirt in New York for Summerslam. Roberts said that she is retired so he retired it. Brie then countered that after she has her first child, she will make a comeback.

Brie: "I am going to make a comeback after I have my first child so that shirt better get back on."

Sam Roberts:"Are you?"

Brie: "Yeah! Hell yeah, I am".

This is where Brie made the first announcement, and it will be interesting to see how she and Bryan manage to take care of their child while both being on the road. Bryan gets involved quite a bit with the creative aspect of Smackdown Live along with Commissioner Shane McMahon.

Brie said that her biggest argument with Bryan is regarding his in-ring return. She said:

It’s so frustrating. I feel like it’s our biggest argument in our marriage. Of course, he would love to, but we don’t get to choose our health, unfortunately. He’s 35, so it happened out of nowhere, but unfortunately it’s just that you don’t get to choose and what happens to our bodies, but we get to choose the next 20 years of our life or the next 50 years, which we are lucky that WWE have good Doctors and that they care, and I’m like, Bryan, the minute we have a baby and you hold that baby it’s all going to be over. Shawn Michaels told him that. He’s like, you don’t care about your body and everything that happens to it, until you have a child and he’s like, wrestling becomes way down here because wrestling takes over your whole life. I think that is what he means, so we’re just trying to hurry it up. He actually got accepted to Arizona State University, but then WWE called for the GM of Smackdown, which he is loving. He helps out with some creative, he is the co-host of Talking Smack, which is amazing. Then, he was commentating with Mauro [Ranallo] on the WWE Network, which he loved, so I think, for him, he was going to school wanting to major in Permaculture, and then all this came and he still gets to be part of wrestling. It’s a style of living where you put your land together in its natural habitat. We live in the desert so you produce food on your own and you use natural water and things like that."

Brie belonged to the Divas era of the WWE and left just as WWE made the official transition from the Divas division to the Women’s division. It will be interesting to see what her place is in the Women’s division which is seeing more and more improvement day by day.
