WWE News: Brock Lesnar speaks on his "bumpy road", future return to UFC

The Beast Incarnate clearly hasn’t had a change in position in WWE

The last few months have clearly been a rollercoaster for Brock Lesnar. In June, at UFC 199, it was announced that The Beast Incarnate would return to the octagon at UFC 200. This created a lot of buzz going into UFC 200, and at the grand event, he defeated his opponent Mark Hunt by unanimous decision.

At that point, Brock’s stock was never higher. He got universal praise and was riding a huge wave of momentum. At that point, he seemed unstoppable. However, just like a rollercoaster goes up, it comes swirling down.

While that might have been made to sound a little dramatic, it indeed was a sudden fall, as Brock Lesnar got popped, failing the USADA violations. The immense criticism and hatred towards Lesnar began, and it was speculated as to how long Brock Lesnar would be suspended. Another speculation was what his position would be in WWE.

WWE was heavily criticized for the fact that Lesnar was not suspended for clearly violating the Wellness Policy, with the logic simply being that part-time wrestlers don’t get suspended. Brock Lesnar did come back and even got to main event Summerslam against Randy Orton, a match that he won by Technical Knockout(TKO) when he elbowed Orton so bad that he just busted him open and blood gushed out of The Viper’s head.

It was a shocking finish which culminated in him giving an F5 to Shane McMahonas well, who tried to stop Lesnar from annihilating Orton. This seems to be leading to what will be a storyline suspension for Lesnar, which will keep him out until Royal Rumble. In the video below, Brock Lesnar spoke to TMZ Sports at the WWE 2K17 media event on Friday night, 2 days before Summerslam and was asked about a possible return to UFC. Lesnar said:

“I’ve got a few challenges to overcome before I can get there but I don’t know. For right now I’m going to focus on my WWE career. I wanted to step back into the Octagon and avenge my loss to diverticulitis. Sunday, I’m facing Randy Orton and really that’s all that’s on my mind.”

Lesnar goes on to thank his UFC fans for their support and says this is a bumpy road but he will get through it. Lesnar says maybe one day we will see him back in the Octagon.
