WWE News: Dean Ambrose and James Ellsworth talk about potentially becoming Tag Team Champions

Dean Ambrose and James Ellsworth have developed a budding friendship on Smackdown Live

After winning his Smackdown Live contract in a ladder match against AJ Styles this past Tuesday, James Ellsworth, and Dean Ambrose were on ESPN’s Off The Top Rope with Jonathan Coachman. The Coach asked Ellsworth what he thought his future with Ambrose holds.

Ellsworth said that he hopes that Dean Ambrose wins the WWE World Championship from AJ Styles this December 4th at TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs. Ellsworth also said that he hopes to become Smackdown Tag Team Champions with Dean Ambrose down the line.

When Coach asked the duo about being paired-up and being compared to the Rock and Sock Connection, Ellsworth said that he is like The Rock and that Ambrose is like Mick Foley. Ambrose disagreed and said that he would be The Rock of the group. Ambrose said that he was the king of the death match, so if Ellsworth worked out more, he could be The Rock.

Ambrose said in the interview that he believes what has helped Ellsworth get over, is that a lot of people watch WWE and envision themselves being in the ring just like Ellsworth. He said they dream about it, and Ellsworth made that dream come true. He also said that people picture themselves as Ellsworth

Ellsworth admitted in the interview that he didn’t fit the mould of a WWE superstar when asked about questioning whether he could make it to the WWE after being a wrestler for 14 years. Ellsworth said that he kept fighting and there he was. Ambrose mentioned that Ellsworth surprised everyone by joining WWE.
