We learnt on this week’s episode of NXT that former independent wrestling standout Athena would finally be making her televised NXT debut at NXT TakeOver: Back 2 Brooklyn under her WWE approved ring-name, Ember Moon.
A video package was played hyping her debut on NXT television and needless to say it has fans excited and has shades of Apollo Crews’ debut at the original NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn last year. Ember Moon signed her WWE contract almost a year ago and since then has only been featured in dark matches or at live events.
She’s a storied veteran of the indies and has wrestled in promotions like Shimmer, Absolute Intense Wrestling and even Ring of Honor. Ember Moon made her NXT Live Event debut in October of last year so it’s been quite a wait for the majority of the NXT audience to get a look at her work. As of now, it has not been revealed as to who her opponent will be for her debut but it probably won’t be a high-profile opponent.
