WWE News: Finn Balor receives stem cell injections to help nurse injury

Finn Balor is currently recovering from a shoulder injury

Former WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor has had an unlucky stretch, to say the least since making his debut on WWE’s main roster. Balor made his Monday Night RAW debut after being drafted to the red brand during the WWE Draft as a result of the Brand Extension. Balor tore up the independent scene during his run with New Japan Pro Wrestling, and then really began to make strides as a member of the Bullet Club.

The talented young Irishman would then ink a deal with the WWE to come on to the promotion’s developmental program in NXT where he would go on to secure the brand’s title, making him one of the most exciting NXT Champions WWE fans have witnessed in quite some time.

Shortly after being drafted to RAW, Balor would accomplish an even bigger feat that his call up to the big time, when he defeated perennial contenders Rusev, Cesaro, and Kevin Owens in a Fatal Four Way match for the opportunity to main event his first ever Monday Night RAW against Roman Reigns.

When Reigns and Balor took the ring for the main event, an opportunity to go on to SummerSlam to compete for the inaugural WWE Universal Championship was on the line, and Balor showed it in his spectacular performance that night. Balor would defeat Reigns cleanly to get the No. 1 contender ship opportunity, accomplishing so much on only his first night on the main roster of Monday Night RAW and propelling himself into a whole other tier of superstardom.

After weeks of feuding with his rival Seth Rollins, Balor and ‘The Architect’ would finally lock horns for the new RAW title at SummerSlam. After an amazing bout by both men, Balor emerged victorious and would ride high on the momentum of becoming the first ever WWE Universal Champion in history.

Unfortunately, Balor sustained a major injury during his matchup with Rollins, that would sideline the hot young star for a lengthy 6 month period. After undergoing an MRI it was revealed that Balor sustained a torn shoulder labrum that would require surgery, forcing him to vacate the title he had worked so hard to win.

In hopes of getting back to the ring as soon as possible, however, Balor visited Dr Jeffrey Dugas and his staff in Birmingham, Alabama to receive a stem cell injection. WWE posted a video of the operation, which you can view here below:
