In a recent announcement, WWE confirmed that six Superstars from NXT will get drafted to the main roster shows, SmackDown or RAW. This hints that top NXT Superstars including Finn Balor, Nakamura, etc will be a part of the main roster soon.
Last night in Louisville, Kentucky, NXT had its final live event before the WWE Draft. A huge ten person tag team match was booked for the main event of the show. The team consisting of Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, American Alpha and Bayley won that match by defeating the team of Bobby Roode, Samoa Joe, Alexa Bliss and The Revival.
Allwrestlingnews.com points out that after the match was over, former NXT Champion Finn Balor addressed the crowd and mentioned that he feels a ‘draft’. He went on to say that every wrestler, who worked tonight’s event will soon have their WrestleMania moments. Balor eventually mentioned that he, along with Nakamura, American Alphas, Bayley “are NXT!”
Before the event took place, Finn Balor had a live interaction on Facebook. He was asked by Tom Philips about the upcoming Draft, to which Balor answered :
“Despite what you may think, I am normally the last person to find anything out. I’m not sure how the Draft works, whether it’s only people who are currently on RAW or SmackDown, or past people, like alumni can be drafted, or is it open to entire WWE Universe? Can we draft fans? Or, can Mr. Regal draft someone to NXT? I would love John Cena in NXT, or ‘The Viper’ Randy Orton.”
