WWE News: Finn Balor wasn’t interested in forming Balor Club prior to shoulder injury

Would things have been different for Finn Balor had he formed the Balor Club?

Finn Balor on Sunday at SummerSlam defeated Seth Rollins to become the first ever WWE Universal Champion. However, the very next day it was found that Balor had injured his right shoulder and would have to go through surgery, thus putting him out of action for at least six months. Due to this injury, Balor had to relinquish his WWE Universal Championship.

This came as a major setback to the WWE as they had plans on making Balor one of the top babyfaces of Monday Night RAW. But, for now, the plans are on hold. Prior to Balor’s injury rumors were going around the development of Balor Club, which was expected to be on the lines of The Bullet Club – a stable in NJPW headed by Balor, which also had Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

But, Balor during his appearance on Chris Jericho’s podcast “Talk is Jericho” said that he wasn’t interested in forming the Balor Club, at least for now.

“I think [The Balor Club] could happen eventually, but I don’t think it needs to happen right now. I don’t think there’s any reason for it to happen right now. Fantasy booking, yeah, it’s a great idea, it’ll give me plenty of options. But I think for me right now, being my own entity is more important for myself, and for Gallows and Anderson.”

Hence, whatever plans WWE had for the Balor Club, it will have to be put on hold for at least the next six months. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson will also have to be given some different angle because they most likely won’t bring back Finn as a heel.

Balor still hasn’t had his surgery, so nobody has any idea how long it will take for him to actually get back. Will he be a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble? Nobody knows, but whatever it is, it will take a lot of time until we get to see Finn back on T.V.

However, it is safe to assume that until and unless something goes horribly wrong Balor will make his return before Wrestlemania 33. Balor also mentioned on Jericho’s podcast that he would like to face The Undertaker at Wrestlemania, so who knows? Maybe we’ll get o see the “Demon King” vs the “Deadman” at Wrestlemania 33.

Seth Rollins is probably going to win the WWE Universal Championship, and might keep it until Balor is ready to make a comeback.
