Looks like former WWE Tag Team Champions The Headbangers could be making a surprise return to WWE by filling in the 8th and final spot in the ongoing Tag Team Championship tournament on SmackDown Live.

One-half of the former WWE tag team, Glenn Ruth, claimed in a recent facebook post from his official account that the fans will see the return of the former WWE employees this Tuesday on SmackDown Live. His post reads something like this:

This Tuesday night at 8pm tune into the USA network to see THE HEADBANGERS back in a WWE ring!! Smack Down live here we come!!!

After Glenn posted this, the other half of the former tag champs, Chaz Warrington, also made a facebook post where he claimed that he had a dream of his son watching him wrestling in a WWE ring and that dream will come true on SmackDown Live. This is what he posted:

Ever since Tyler was old enough to realize and understand that I wrestle, I've had a dream/wish. That dream/wish was to wrestle one more time in a WWE Ring so he could see it.

This dream/wish will cole true this Tuesday night in Dallas, Tx!!! I will be on WWE's Smackdown Live Show on the USA Network!!

Not only will he see me in ring but he'll be able to watch it Live on TV!! This is truly a dream come true for me and I'm beyond excited!!!

After the news broke, Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that the duo will indeed be back on WWE TV this Tuesday night, and will square off against the newly formed tag team of Heath Slater and Rhyno on this week's episode of the blue brand. It's not known yet if this is a one-off appearance deal or if WWE has signed them for a longer time span.

It's notable here that Charles Warrington (Chaz) and Glenn Ruth made their WWE debut with the ring names Mosh and Thrasher respectively in November 1996.

They won the tag team championship back in October 1997 during the Ground Zero: In Your House PPV defeating The Legion of Doom, but lost them just one month later on the Badd Blood: In Your House PPV to The Godwinns.

Both wrestlers stayed with the company for 4 more years, separating and reuniting during various feuds during the period. Glenn Ruth was released from the WWE in July 2000, while his partner Charles Warrington was released in July 2001.
