WWE News: Goldberg begins his preparation for Royal Rumble

Goldberg has his sights set on winning the Royal Rumble match now

The annual Royal Rumble pay-per-view may be close to two months away but Goldberg has already started preparing for it. A couple of weeks ago on Raw, the returning superstar announced that he would participate in the 30-man Royal Rumble match, which would be the main event of the night as always.

After destroying Brock Lesnar in under 2 minutes at the Survivor Series recently, Goldberg certainly has his tail up. On November 30th, ‘The Myth’ posted a picture of himself at a training facility with boxing gloves on, apparently gearing up for the Royal Rumble on 29 January 2017.

“After a few days of well-needed rest, it's time to get back to work!!! I'm putting 29 guys on notice....,” read the caption of the image, clearly referring to the over-the-top-rope battle, which gives the winner a title shot at Wrestlemania.

Goldberg’s comeback to the WWE has been nothing short of a dream, not only for the man himself but also for the WWE Universe. Considering his Survivor Series opponent Brock Lesnar’s dominance over other superstars in recent times, there was a lot of doubt over how the WCW legend would cope with his threat. However, he shocked the world when he annihilated the ‘Beast Incarnate’ in a matter of 3 moves – 2 spears and a Jackhammer. What made his achievement even more amazing is the fact that it was his first match in the squared circle after over 12 years.

The fan following for Goldberg has been nothing short of electrifying, ever since he made an appearance on the October 17th episode of Raw, which was held at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. Relive the return of ‘The Myth’ to Raw in this video:
