WWE News: Jinder Mahal shares success story on Instagram

Mahal was a part of the original NXT roster

WWE Superstar Jinder Mahal recently revealed that he has abstained from alcohol for over six months through Instagram. Below is what he posted:

Mahal was a part of the very first NXT roster along with Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Tyson Kidd, and Dean Ambrose. He wrestled Rollins unsuccessfully, in the finals of the inaugural Gold Rush for the NXT Championship.

Mahal made his main-roster debut by aligning with Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre, forming the stable 3MB. 3MB never managed to win the Tag Team Championships during their run in the company. He was released in June after WWE did not renew his contract.

After being released, Mahal started wrestling on the independent circuit for promotions such as Reality of Wrestling, World Wrestling Council, Continental Wrestling Entertainment, and Inoki Genome Federation to name a few.

After spending two years in the Indies, Mahal returned to the WWE on the RAW brand. Mahal took on the role of a wrestler who'd found inner peace after staying in the Himalayas. Mahal lost to Superstars such as Sami Zayn, Neville, and Darren Young. His only televised victory as of now is against SmackDown's Jack Swagger.

On the December 12th edition of RAW, Mahal lost to Sami Zayn. Mahal was not a part of Roadblock tonight.

Mahal, real name Yuvraj Singh Dhesi, is the nephew of Gama Singh and holds a degree in communications and culture from the University of Calgary.
