WWE News: What happened after The Club took out the Dudleys?

The Dudley Boyz returned on the Raw after last year’s Summreslam

It has been 364 days since The Dudley Boyz made their triumphant return, at the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, where NXT Takeover, Summerslam, and Raw, took place this year and last year. The Dudley Boyz returned to a hero’s welcome, where they upstaged The New Day, who were fresh off their second tag team championship win.

They proceeded to do what they do best, put people through tables.

It became clear that the role of The Dudleyz was to help elevate the tag team division. They did so by putting over The New Day in two consecutive pay-per-views, Night of Champions, and Hell In A Cell. But it undoubtedly helped, as it really gave The New Day the push and credibility that they earned. In fact, as of now, The New Day have reached a full year into their tag team title reign.

It was not just The New Day who The Dudley Boyz helped elevate. In December, The Dudley Boyz were involved in a feud with The Wyatt Family, and they called back their fellow ECW legends Tommy Dreamer and Rhyno to face The Wyatt Family. The ECW legends had a great tables match with The Wyatt Family at TLC, and also the next night on Raw. They put over The Wyatt Family as well.

In February, The Dudley Boyz turned heel after turning on The Usos, who they faced at the Wrestlemania 32 kickoff show, which they lost, and were put through tables. However, the next night on Raw, they beat The Usos, thus ending their feud with them. They were immediately put in a program with the newly debuting Enzo & Cass.

After this, they were more or less fluttering back and forth, putting tag teams over as they always do. However, it was announced yesterday by Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley that they would be saying goodbye to the WWE, and retiring from professional wrestling.

They came out on tonight’s Raw to a hero’s welcome once more, to a very respectful crowd, and thanked everyone for the year they had and said their goodbyes. However, they were upstaged by The Shining Stars, whom they attacked, before being attacked themselves by Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, who then gave D-Von a magic killer through the table, ending the segment.WWE released footage of what the aftermath of the attack on The Dudley Boyz was:
