WWE News: Paige could potentially be out for another year

Will we have to wait one full year to see Paige again?

Paige has been out of action since the end of June. Fresh off the heels of one of the best years of her wrestling career, her neck injury has since kept her sidelined for over 3 months now.

Paige tweeted out that she has “two great surgery options”:

According to AllWrestlingNews, one option is that she could get a quicker fix surgery, which doesn't fully resolve the problem she has, but she will return to in-ring action after a few months. Her other option, however, is a fusion surgery, which is the permanent fix for the problem, but that would mean she would be out of action for over a year

It will be an interesting development as to what Paige decides to choose and what she prioritises. If there’s pressure from WWE’s side for a return, then she may take the first option to return as soon as this year or sometime next year before Wrestlemania.

However, if she wants to sustain a long term career in wrestling, then the second option works out better. The fact of the matter is, she is still only 24 and has a long road ahead of her. Even if she is back only towards the end of 2017, she will still have several years left in her career and could rekindle her career.

Things will definitely change in the next year, and for all we know, she could wound up being drafted to Smackdown Live upon her return. There is no doubt that she would be among the top stars of the entire blue brand if drafted there.

Even if she were to be drafted to Raw, there would always be a place for her, as she is one of the most experienced women wrestlers in the WWE. Her being on the roster would help boost the division greatly.

She could also finally get back into the title picture down the line and become Women’s Champion, whether it is on Raw or Smackdown Live.

Regardless of the brand or company she ends up in, Paige will always be vital wherever she goes. We at Sportskeeda wish her all the best in her recovery!
