The Nature Boy fancies Goldberg's chance of winning the Royal Rumble.

Flair feels that Goldberg is riding on a wave of momentum and should win the Royal Rumble

The Nature Boy recently took to his online podcast The Ric Flair Show to discuss the Survivor Series clash between Lesnar and Goldberg, Goldberg entering the Royal Rumble and much more.

Flair felt that having Goldberg win the Royal Rumble and headline WrestleMania wouldn’t be such a bad idea after all. Ric said that Goldberg was really over with the WWE Universe and there was momentum on Bill’s side heading into the new year. Flair credited this to Goldberg’s raw intensity inside the squared circle.

Flair was dismissive of the recent rumours stating that WWE was eyeing a feud between Shane McMahon and Brock Lesnar for WrestleMania 33. He felt that Shane vs. Hunter would be a bigger draw for Mania. He said that there was an unknown animosity between the two and that would play out very well on the grandest stage of them all.

Ric Flair recently made a triumphant return to WWE on Monday Night RAW, in Flair Country to congratulate Sasha Banks on winning the WWE RAW Women’s Championship for the third time.

Slick Ric admitted that he was as shocked as anybody with the outcome of the match at Survivor Series. He was of the view that Brock Lesnar saw wrestling as a business and just wanted to make money. Despite this, he felt that Brock had done Goldberg a great favour, by allowing him to go over in just 85 seconds.

Ric pointed out that it was a big deal for Lesnar to job to a 49-year-old man, who hadn’t taken a bump in the ring in the past 12 years. He did express concerns about Goldberg’s fitness going into the match. Flair said:

“My only concern was my worry of him being ready; not to faults of his own, but be ready to be bounced around by Brock, but he didn’t have to experience it, so I’m happy for both of them.”

Flair said that there would definitely be a rematch, where Brock would redeem himself and again establish himself as the ‘Beast Incarnate’.

“It’s hard to figure out what goes through Brock’s mind, but it was great for Goldberg, and our favorite saying is “what’s good for business. They will have a great rematch there; and I’ve talked to Bill and he wants to work some more. They both are making a lot of money, especially Brock.”
