Last month, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made the Forbes list of the “World’s Highest Paid Celebrities,” which was topped by singer-songwriter, Taylor Swift. Coming in at no.19 with $64.5 million earnings, he was the highest paid actor on the list.

Now, Forbes published their list of “World’s Highest Paid Actors,” of 2016, and Dwayne Johnson topped it with $64.5 million with Jackie Chan coming in second, having earned $61 million while Matt Damon came third at $55 million. Robert Downey Jr. who commanded the number 1 spot last year, fell down to the 8th spot with earnings of $33 million.

Last year The Rock was #81 with Robert Downey Jr. taking the first position at $80 million, Jackie Chan in the second position at $50 million, and Vin Diesel taking the third position at $47 million.

The Rock’s doubled financial earnings could be attributed to him taking upfront fees for movies including “Central Intelligence” (B.O. $210.3 million), “Fast 8”, and the upcoming “Baywatch” film. Jennifer Lawrence was announced as the world’s highest paid actress for 2016 at $46 million, which is almost $20 million less than The Rock.

The Rock also participated in Wrestlemania 32 beating Erick Rowan in a mere 6 seconds, as a result creating a record for the shortest match in Wrestlemania history.

Reports are going around that The Rock might be going off against his “Fast 8” co-star Vin Diesel at Wrestlemania 33. The Rock will probably continue ruling the box office in the future as he’s already set to star in the new “Jumanji” movie, “Doc Savage”, “Rampage”, “San Andreas 2”, and many others that are in the pipeline.
