Raw Women’s Champion Sasha Banks posted the following on Twitter, regarding her contract signing segment (in the presence of General Manager Mick Foley) with Charlotte:
Cat Zingano, once the Number One contender to the Bantamweight Championship then tweeted the following:
Zingano then retweeted this to strengthen her case.
Zingano currently holds an MMA record of 9-2. Her last two fights were losses, with the first one being to the then-Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey, and after that, more recently in UFC 200 against Julianna Peña (which she lost by unanimous decision).
It would be interesting to see her come and have a one-off match, perhaps at Wrestlemania or Summerslam, against The Boss. However, she does not have the same name value and recognition that someone like Ronda Rousey does.
Nevertheless, it would be an extremely fun guest celebrity appearance by Zingano, though it would be unknown if she is to be a heel or face.
She would presumably be a face since a majority of the celebrities that come in, are babyfaces. Jon Stewart for example, was a heel when he cost John Cena his United States Championship match against Seth Rollins. However, this year at Summerslam, he was a babyface when he helped The New Day retain their Tag Team Championships against The Club.
With the mainstream crossover between MMA and Pro Wrestling, don’t be surprised if Zingano’s challenge comes to fruition.
