Dark matches, i.e, ones that happen for the live crowd after the cameras stop recording are becoming a regular thing for WWE at least for these last few shows. After Monday’s RAW, John Cena and ‘The Lunatic Fringe’, Dean Ambrose take on and defeat Seth Rollins and A.J Styles.

John Cena and A.J Styles had a truly great match on Sunday’s SummerSlam which is still being talked about by fans and critics alike. Cena seemed to have been paving the way for A.J during that match and Styles didn’t disappoint the crowd. It felt like Cena had finally realized he has had his time in the spotlight and seemed to be eager to elevate the newly brought in Superstar in the eyes of both the fans as well as the backstage members of the WWE. Although he’s no amateur, A.J has had less than a year with the company and definitely needed the push at SummerSlam for the audience to clearly see what he brings to the company.

Again after WWE SmackDown Live! went off the air yesterday night, there was a 6-man tag team match involving John Cena, Roman Reigns, and Dean Ambrose on one side of the ring, vs Bray Wyatt, Eric Rowan and Seth Rollins on the other. The match was quite eventful as it was the first time John Cena came out to the SmackDown ring since his match at SummerSlam with A.J. Styles.

The highlights of the match involved Roman Reigns delivering a spear and ten a superman punch on Seth Rollins. Cena delivered an Attitude Adjustment on Bray Wyatt while Ambrose performed a Dirty Deeds on Eric Rowan before pinning him and snagging the victory for the babyfaces. The winning trio of Cena, Reigns and Ambrose then proceeded to pose for the camera.
