St. Petersburg, Florida hosted the latest NXT Live event. The show was headlined by a six-man tag team match involving Eric Young’s Sanity and also featured the in-ring return of the Ravishing Russian, Lana. Moreover, several stars of WWE’s cruiserweight division performed at the event. The results have been provided below :
#1 Steve Cutler vs Jack Gallagher
‘The Extraordinary Gentleman’ was greeted with an amazing pop.
It was a good back and forth match to kick-off the show. Courtesy Gallagher, this opening contest also had some fun spots. A running corner dropkick on Cutler helped him pick up the pinfall victory.
Result: Jack Gallagher defeated Steve Cutler
#2 Sarah Bridges vs Lana
Lana, who wrestled her first match since the ten women divas tag team action at WrestleMania 32, received a babyface reaction from the audience.
Her break-dance prior to the match delighted the fans in attendance. They also noted that she was quite impressive in the ring while working with a veteran like Sarah Bridges, popular as the Crazy Mary Gibson.
Lana pinned Bridges following a fisherman’s spinebuster to win the contest.
Result: Lana defeated Sarah Bridges
#3 Tian Bing vs Kona Reeves
The match was short. Although Reeves delivered some offensive maneuvers, Bing dominated the majority of the bout and picked up the victory
Result: Tian Bing defeated Kona Reeves
#4 Noam Dar vs Gran Metalik
The two notable names in the WWE’s Cruiserweight divison were welcomed with cheers. The crown jewel of Lucha Libre pinned Dar following a Metalik Driver to win this exciting contest.
Result: Gran Metalik defeated Noam Dar
After the match, WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann came out to greet the audience. He was soon interrupted by Dan Matha, which led to the confirmation of a match between the two.
#5 Mandy Rose vs Daria
The audience were in full support of Mandy Rose. She was the runner-up of the 2015th edition of WWE Tough Enough and had made her wrestling debut earlier this year. The match was average but the Golden Goddess proved that she has been improving her in-ring skills.
Result: Mandy Rose defeated Daria
#6 Tommy End vs Roderick Strong
The crowd was vocal and loud throughout the contest. It was unexpectedly awesome, and without a doubt, the match of the night. Some fans even named it as one of the best NXT live event matches of all time. Strong picked up the win.
Result: Roderick Strong defeated Tommy End
#7 Rich Swann vs Dan Matha
Swann received a huge pop from the crowd. The match was action-packed, yet entertaining courtesy the Cruiserweight Champion.
Matha was impressive in the ring as the 'tougher guy', considering he’s billed at 6’8” and 290 pounds, who had to be rolled-up by Swann for the victory.
Result: Rich Swann defeated Dan Matha
#8 Eric Young, Big Damo and Alexander Wolfe vs Tucker Knight, Otis Dozovic and Ho Ho Lun
The match was fun and turned out be the second best bout of the night. All the six participants had their moments, so did the other member of Sanity, Nikki Cross, who was at ringside.
Result: Big Damo, Alexander Wolfe and Eric Young defeated Tucker Knight, Otis Dozovic and Ho Ho Lun
After the match ended, Sanity tried to attack Ho Ho Lun but Knight and Dozovic made the save. The three celebrated in the ring as the NXT Live event from St. Petersburg came to an end.
