Another WWE contract signing broke down into chaos

Another Wednesday night and another great episode of NXT. We got the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag-Team Classic tonight, the contract signing between Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa plus a lot more. Read on for the full results and review.

#DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tomasso Ciampa) vs The Authors of Pain (semi-final of the Dusty Classic)

Paul Ellering helped the Authors of Pain pull off the win

Gargano and Ciampa were super-over with the crowd as they came out and were greeted with chants of “Psychokiller” and “Johnny Wrestling”. Their opponents were accompanied to ringside by manager Paul Ellering.

The Authors of Pain have steamrolled through every tag-team they faced so far but Gargano and Ciampa aren’t ones to be intimidated.

Ciampa and Achum start us off as Achum immediately looked to overpower his opponent. Ciampa made the quick tag as DIY hit Achum with two quick dropkicks to disbalance him. They followed it up with stereo knee strikes to both members of the Authors of Pain.

Gargano followed this up with an attempted Suicide Dive on Achum and Rayzar on the outside but they caught him in midair and threw him right into Ciampa to take control as we went to a commercial.

We can back to find Rayzar in control of Gargano. Ellering got involved while the referee was distracted and smashed Gargano’s face into the mat. The Authors continued to isolate Gargano in the corner. Gargano tried to hit back but none of his strikes had any effect.

Rayzar then tagged in Achum who picked Gargano up and put him in a modified submission move. Achum then tagged in Rayzar but Gargano hit him with an Enzeguiri and followed it up with a tag. Ciampa came in with momentum, and immediately hit Achum, who was on the Apron, with a running knee. He followed it up with repeated knees and strikes to Rayzar before hitting a massive German Suplex on Rayzar as the crowd exploded.

Rayzar kicked out at 2 and hit both Gargano and Ciampa with a double Fallaway Slam. Achum and Rayzar tried to follow it up with a double powerbomb but they got reversed into hurracanranas followed by stereo roll-ups for the nearfall.

Gargano and Ciampa then hit their signature Superkick/knee combination but Paul Ellering distracted the referee by climbing on the apron. At this moment, The Revival crawled out from under the ring and Johnny Gargano with a DDT on the Apron as the Authors of Pain hit Ciampa with The Last Chapter for the win.

We get a backstage promo from Tye Dillinger after this. He calls out Bobby Roode and said there would be no more lies or backstabbing. Dillinger said that after he was done with Roode, Toronto would be known as the Perfect 10 city.

TM-61 vs SANITY

TM-61 somehow managed to pull of the win

SANITY members Alexander Wolfe and Sawyer Fulton make their way to the ring first accompanied by Eric Young and Nikki Cross. SANITY are without a doubt one of the most interesting acts on NXT programming right now. They were followed out by Australian duo Shane Thorne and Nick Miller - TM-61.

Fulton and Wolfe didn’t even wait for the bell to ring as all 4 SANITY members attacked TM-61 at ringside. Young sent Miller into the steel steps as Wolfe sent Thorne crashing into the apron. The beatdown continued as we went into a commercial.

We came back to find Alexander Wolfe and Shane Thorne in the ring with Nick Miller still laid out at ringside. Thorne tried to put up a fight by Fulton and Wolfe isolated Thorne and tried to make quick work of him. Wolfe went for the cover following a double team but Throne managed to kick out.

Thorne kept fighting against increasing odds as Wolfe got tagged in and continued working on Shane Thorne as Miller finally managed to climb onto the apron. However, Miller got met by a forearm from Wolfe and immediately went down again. Fulton and Wolfe went to double-team Thorne again but he sent them crashing into each other and finally tagged in Nick Miller.

Miller came in and did his best to take the fight to SANITY before Fulton hit him from behind. Fulton and Wolfe then went for another double-team but Thorne came in and dropkicked Fulton out of the room and Nick Miller somehow rolled-up Alexander Wolfe for the 3-count. A huge upset from TM-61 who will face the Authors of Pain in the Dusty Classic final.

William Regal has a message for the NXT Universe next. He says that since The Revival interfered in #DIY’s match, he’d booked a 2-out-of-3 falls match for the NXT Tag-Team Championships for NXT TakeOver: Toronto.

Bobby Roode cuts a backstage promo next. He says that Tye Dillinger isn’t even close to being a Perfect 10 and he’d prove at TakeOver that he was nothing but a perfect loser. Roode then promises to make TakeOver: Toronto glorious.

Rachel Evers vs Ember Moon

Ember Moon impressed once again

This match was fast-paced and entertaining. Rachel Evers gave a good account of herself and tried her best to keep Ember Moon grounded. She was on top for a part of the match but her big mistake was a slapping Ember Moon.

Moon was a completely different woman after getting slapped and hit Evers with a flurry of vicious strikes and kicks finishing the sequence off with a running boot to the face. She followed it up with her trademark handstand forearm followed by her Twisting Top Rope Stunner for the win. Another great performance from Ember Moon tonight as she continues to impress.

Contract Signing for the NXT Championship match: Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe sat on the ramp and signed his contract

William Regal is in the ring as he calls out both men to the ring. Regal is accompanied by 6 members of NXT’s security team. Joe came out to the entrance ramp when his name was called before going back in and reappearing with his own table and chair and setting them up on the ramp

Joe says that he would conduct his business from the ramp because he didn’t trust Regal’s security. He asked Regal to control the ‘rabid animal’ who was his champion because if he didn’t, Joe would have to come put him down. Joe also added that he could come have Nakamura stretched out at any time but since he was a benevolent future champion, he’d show restraint. He followed It up by asking Regal to make himself useful and bring him the contract.

Joe kept taunting Regal as he walked towards him with the contract before finally signing. Regal then walked back to the ring, following which Nakamura went to sign on the dotted line before dropping the contract and attacking security. He took out 6 members of security before Powerbombing one of them through security.

Following the devastation, Nakamura finally signed the contract as we faded out. An excellent segment to end the show. With TakeOver: Toronto less than two weeks away the hype is slowly building up and it promises to be a great show.
