Possible script for The Shield vs Evolution

Evolution standing tall after destroying The Shield

In the past, WWE has always fascinated its fans with feuds that involve the present battling the past. New emerging forces have been paired up against famous reputed ones that have returned to show who’s the boss in the ring. Revisiting that similar concept, WWE is gearing up for a showdown between two of the most dominant forces of the new millenium in the form of The Shield vs Evolution.

Last week, Monday night raw went off the air with a returning Evolution annihilating The Shield in Birmingham, Alabama. The Hounds of Justice were taken apart in the ring by a significant number of wrestlers from the locker room. While they lay flat on the floor, the infamous Motorhead’s music hit and the trio of Randy Orton, Triple H and Batista entered the arena and heaped further punishment on them, setting up an exciting storyline for the fans to engage in.

The Shield have been a revolution since they started out in the WWE. They have overcome all challenges and have established themselves as future headliners for main events. Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose have proved their credentials both as a team and as individuals which has drawn the attention of veterans in the business.

The storyline with The Authority has seen many fluctuations with the pre Wrestlemania 30 development involving the New Age Outlaws and Kane. It was believed that the partnership of the trio which was about to break, was revived again solely because The New Age Outlaws wanted to have a match against them. Thus, the Wrestlemania tag team match took place where Kane and his outlaws were convincingly beaten by the Hounds of Justice.

Meanwhile, on-screen COO of the WWE, Triple H, has been impressed by the potential of the members of The Shield and visioning them as future main event head-liners, he has decided to work with the group which may be the headlining act of the script as we head into the summer. A singles match with Roman Reigns is what The Game may see as the finishing chapter to this saga. But to do that, the story would need to have a highly anticipated build up which is the reason ‘The Shield vs Evolution’ comes into the picture.

Evolution was pretty much the backbone of the Ruthless Aggression Era. Built on the guidance on Nature Boy Ric Flair and Triple H, the group gave us two of the biggest names of today in the form of Randy Orton and The Animal Batista who have multiple World Champion titles to their names.

The prospect of reuniting three active members to face against the current dominant team is a promising set up heading into Summer Slam. Should The Shield stay united till the summer event, they will have completed two years of their tenure as a team. There will be sides taken when the match occurs, but as of now the crowd should be leaning more towards The Shield. One thing we can be pretty sure about is that things are going to get exciting in the coming episodes.
