WWE Raw Preview: 12th September, 2016

Reigns could reach the COC main event

WWE has officially entered into the Clash of Champions territory after the conclusion of Backlash. The first pay-per-view from SmackDown proved to be a memorable one and it will now be up to Monday Night Raw to deliver the goods. Last week, Raw was all about shifting the limelight on Kevin Owens, who had won the WWE Universal championship a couple of weeks back.

WWE was successful in doing so to an extent. Seth Rollins got his shot at Owens ahead of Clash of Champions and this week, we will have a better picture about the WWE Universal championship match at the pay-per-view. Along with this, there are some of the things that you should watch out for during this week’s Monday Night Raw.

1- Bo Dallas gets the new push

Bo-Lieve

One of the biggest surprises of the past week was the push that Bo Dallas got with an impressive squash match under his name. He had his own entrance and a new slogan to go with it, and it wouldn’t be surprising if WWE has some big plans for him going forward. However, the rumor mills suggest otherwise.

The only apparent reason why Bo Dallas is getting the push is because of his upcoming match against Chinese superstar Bin Wang. WWE wanted Bo to look strong ahead of his showdown with Bin. Bin Wang defeated Bo at the recently concluded live event in China, which could mean the end of Bo’s push.

2- The Boss is back

Sasha is back

Sasha Banks made a huge announcement last week. Though the initial buildup suggested a retirement speech, it turned out to be the complete opposite as Sasha announced her return in style with the segment. She got the better of Dana Brooks last time around but Sasha has some unfinished business with Charlotte as well.

Now that The Boss is back, the chances of her going back to the Women’s championship scenario are high. But at the same time, they have Bayley in the mix, which in turn opens up the door for a Three-way feud for the championship unless WWE wants Sasha to be paired up with Dana for a programme.

3- Tag Team Division needs new things

There is only one word to describe their booking

The Tag Team division of Monday Night Raw is packed with talent. With the likes of New Day, Enzo and Cass, and The Club at their disposal, the creative team of Raw could come up with some entertaining segments. This was perhaps their intention last week around when they gave us the ‘Old Day’ segment. However, it failed to live up to the expectations and fell flat completely.

While New Day vs. The Club is the main feud for the division, the lack of a clear-cut storyline for Enzo Amore and Big Cass is worth noticing. They are a hot team right now and randomly booking them in matches is something that WWE should avoid this week around.

4- Down but not out

The fifth match will be crucial

The best of seven series between Sheamus and Cesaro is something that rarely gets the attention that it deserves. These two had three matches so far and all of them were solid, to say the least. Currently, Sheamus is leading the series with an impressive record of 3-1 and one more win could let him win the series completely.

Cesaro, meanwhile, is in desperation mode to stack up wins to level the scores after he picked up his first win at the WWE Live event recently. The only way to keep the series alive would be a win for Cesaro and this gives the series an interesting storyline background. Cesaro is positioned perfectly for an Underdog story and WWE might go with a similar booking for the Swiss Superman.

5- Reigns to make it a Triple Threat

Can Reigns do it?

This week’s Monday Night Raw will be headlined by the showdown between Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens. And rather than being a random match, this has huge implications on Clash of Champions. If Reigns gets a win over Owens this week, then the WWE Universal championship match at Clash of Champions will turn into a Triple Threat.

While Reigns and Owens will be the protagonists this week, Seth Rollins and Chris Jericho could make a big impact on the match. Jericho will be eager to help his best friend out during the main event whereas Rollins could work both ways as we don’t know what WWE is planning to do with him at this moment.

Also, if reports are to be beileved, Chris Jericho could interfere in the KO-Reigns match to set up a Clash Of Champions match with the Big Dog. This could mean Rollins takes on Owens for the title while Y2J goes up against Reigns at RAW’s exclusive PPV.
