Two-time WWE World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins kickstarted this week’s episode of WWE Raw, which took place at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. He began with Roman Reigns’ suspension and wanted him out of the Shield triple-threat at WWE Battleground in few week’s time.

Seth was interrupted by the champion Dean Ambrose, who was backing Roman in spite of his suspension and pushed for the triple-threat match as per the initial plan. Surprisingly, AJ Styles walked out to the ring as he wanted to replace Roman Reigns in the match and then went on to challenge Ambrose for the title in a fatal 4-way contest.

AJ Style’s nemesis John Cena joined the party and challenged for a fatal 5-way match and Stephanie McMahon made an appearance and cleared the air surrounding this issue. She announced two matches (John Cena vs Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose vs AJ Styles) later for the night and if Cena and Styles win their respective matches, they will be a part of the title match at WWE Battleground.

Paige and “The Boss” Sasha Banks beat WWE Women’s champion Charlotte and Dana Brooke, courtesy a bank statement from Sasha to Dana.

Titus O’Neil beat United States champion Rusev via count out. A re-match between Rusev and Titus for the US title looms large.

Kane appears backstage and puts his name to run WWE Smackdown, for which Steph refused and revealed tat she will be the one who is in-charge of Smackdown. WWE Intercontinental champion The Miz returns from his month-long hiatus with his wife Maryse and brags about his acting for his latest movie Marine 5.

Kane interrupts and highlights a rule from the WWE rulebook, which states that a champion should defend his title every 30 days. Steph approves Kane’s claim and announces an Intercontinental championship against a mystery opponent.

Seth Rollins beat John Cena, thanks to an interference from The Club. With this, Cena failed to qualify for the WWE World Heavyweight championship at Battleground.

Enzo and Big Cass beat an independent tag team. The social outcasts made their way to the ring as Heath Slater ended up beaten by Cass.

Summer Rae vs Becky Lynch ended in a no contest as Becky attacked Natalya, who was in the ring-side as a commentator.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were the guest hosts for Chris Jericho’s highlight reel. Sami challenged Owens for one final match at Battleground and Owens accepted the challenge. The segment ended with a double superkick from both Owens and Zayn to Jericho.

The Miz came out to defend his Intercontinental championship and his mystery opponent was Demon Kane. Kane beat The Miz via count out, thanks to Maryse faking an injury, which she revealed to her husband backstage.

Appolo Crews and Cesaro beat Sheamus and Alberto del Rio. Del Rio attacked Sheamus and gave his opponents the win.

Jojo interviewed Dean Ambrose backstage and it was interrupted by Stephanie as she warned Dean about the fatal 4-way match at Battleground if Styles beat Ambrose later on the show.

WWE Tag team champions New Day made their way to the ring dressed up like the Wyatt Family and spoke about the power of positivity. Th Wyatts interrupted the Champs and opposed their views. They also targetted Xavier Woods, who is not in the right frame of mind ever since the rivalry began.

There was a backstage segment in which Renee Young interviewed The New Day and asked them about messing with the Wyatts. Kofi and Big E looked energetic while Woods walked away from the interview.

Dean Ambrose beat AJ Styles, thanks to a distraction from John Cena. After the match ended, Seth Rollins delivered Pedigree to Dean Ambrose twice inside the ring while the Club beat up John Cena on the ramp.
