What possibilities can the Evolution reunion lead to?

The Evolution is back

The Evolution is back

As high as Michael Cole is on selling the WWE app or the twitter trends related to the WWE, in the past two weeks since Wrestlemania, WWE has been in the news and twitter for good and bad reasons. Firstly, the Undertaker’s streak ending saw a ripple effect of Twitter reactions and many hilarious memes and shocking faces later it is safe to say that it will remain as one of the top popular culture moments forever.

Then just when we thought that nothing could top that, came the news of The Ultimate Warrior’s death. It just made his last appearance on raw seem all the more prophetic. It was definitely a heart breaking moment seeing him and his family so ecstatic with his prodigal return.

The Raw post the post-Wrestlemania Raw started with an emotional video package in tribute to The Ultimate Warrior. And then it moved on to do some pleasantly surprising booking decisions. The Intercontinental Championship which was as forgotten as the U.S. Championship got a boost by introducing a tournament to determine the No.1 Contender for the Intercontinental Championship. My prediction is that Bad News Barrett will square off against Cesaro for the No. 1 Contender spot. BUT, wasn’t the biggest story of the night. It isn’t the story at all.

Evolution returned and while many seemed to be enjoying it sitting at home, it looked like the hardcore fans had deserted the Alabama arena as there was next to no reaction for their reunion. This lukewarm response might be attributed to the fact that either there were no fans out there who knew what Evolution was all about or the fans are just not interested in a reunion of these three superstars who’ve been and have stayed at the top of the WWE ladder.

Many still think that a reunion is incomplete without the jet flyin’, limousine ridin’, kiss stealin’, wheelin’ dealin’ son of a gun- Ric Flair. While others think that this is no big deal and this reunion won’t go that far.

But there are some points to take from this reunion and feud with The Shield. Firstly, this is another indication that while Roman Reigns will be pushed heavily and might just end up being put over by Triple H in a one on one match, The Shield will not part ways any time sooner.

Another point of note is that this gives Daniel Bryan much respite from the over dominant Triple H and maybe a brief feud with a masked Kane. This gives Batista and Orton a storyline instead of dilly dallying with no storylines and Randy Orton might know more about the latter possibility just like Sheamus. So Nostalgia isn’t the only factor that might sell this storyline but all the supporting reasons surrounding it as well. Hopefully it will make for a Ric Flair return as well. Afterall, WOOOOOO still sells.

While Triple H remains busy with the Shield and the Daniel Bryan’s feud with Kane is not expected run that long, atleast I hope it doesn’t, it makes an interesting space for Vince Mcmahon to make a return into the storyline as well. He can be Daniel Bryan’s new Authority nemesis or he can return as a babyface and stand in stark contrast to Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.

OR

It might, just might lead to Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins turn heel against Roman Reigns and this might just be a storyline to show the rise of Roman Reigns and him going on to build his own Roman Empire in the WWE.

Anyway, the Evolution reunion might be better received in the coming weeks and might just start another set of great moments for the heel-ness of Triple H and Randy Orton might just change his overtly overstretched prancing around the ring and return as the Legend Killer or most accurately as the Viper and also present Batista with some redemption since his return in January.
