When Charlotte dropped the WWE Women’s Championship to Sasha Banks on the first Raw after the draft, she was champion(Divas, then Women’s) for about 308 days. That is in fact, longer than Nikki Bella’s reign as Divas Champion. But it will never be looked that way since the total reign of Charlotte was with two seperate titles. Naturally, after she lost it, a rematch between the two was set for Summerslam. Everyone took it for granted and believed that Sasha would retain the title, because her reign had just begun. However, to the surprise of many, Charlotte won the title right back at Summerslam. However, as we later found out that night, Sasha Banks was removed from all her appearances for the coming month. It was later reported that the reason Sasha dropped the title was the fact that she had nagging injuries, and needed time off, and possibly surgery.It is being reported that WWE officials were not pleased with Charlotte following her match with Sasha Banks at Summerslam. It is being said that she was yelled at for how unsafe and careless the match was. Whether it is true or not is arguable, but fact is that, the match was an extremely risky match. There was constant botches and there were fears that Sasha Banks may have landed awkwardly on her neck in one spot, and there were multiple other spots that looked scary. Many members of the audience later said that they were legitimately scared watching the match, fearing for Sasha. The question really comes to mind – If Sasha was to drop the titles due to nagging injuries, then why did they work such a risky, spot infested match?It is not known whether this really did happen, or if it did, whether the heat continues backstage even now among the officials. Either which ways, Sasha Banks is out for the next month. Mick Foley on Raw announced that Sasha Banks will get a title shot as soon as she returns. Perhaps she will win it right back. As of now, since that babyface slot of Sasha Banks was vacated, the latest NXT call up has taken her place, Bayley. Bayley was inserted right into a feud with Charlotte. It is being said that Bayley will be pushed to the top right away, but that seems unlikely as she is an underdog type character where the money lies in the chase. Perhaps Charlotte will beat Bayley at Clash Of Champions, and Sasha Banks will re-emerge, and claim back the title at Hell In A Cell. This leaves room for the reportedly planned Bayley vs Sasha Banks match at Wrestlemania 33.
