WWE News: Jinder Mahal and Melina returning to the WWE

Will there be a battle of the Camel Clutches?

It was announced on this week’s SmackDown Live that former WWE Superstar Shelton Benjamin is rejoining the blue brand’s roster. He might not be the only alumnus making the treasured trip back to the mecca of pro-wrestling.

PWInsider confirms that former WWE Superstar is returning to the company and will be part of Raw. Mahal was released from his WWE contract in 2014, following a negligible run as a member of 3MB with Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre.

Mahal joined the WWE in 2011 and was inserted in an angle with The Great Khali, as a heel. Over the next year, he feuded with various Superstars like Ted Dibiase Jr., Sheamus, Randy Orton and Ryback. The most significant part of his tenure was his undefeated streak in then-newly launched NXT, which was ended by Seth Rollins in the finals of the Gold Rush Tournament.

Melina last performed in the WWE in 2011, marking the end of a six-year stay in the company. A former professional model, she is a five-time WWE Women’s Champion. Since leaving the WWE, Melina has worked in Women Superstars Uncensored, Family Wrestling Entertainment, World Wrestling Council, Maryland Championship Wrestling and even cameoed in Mucha Underground, where she helped erstwhile WWE colleague John Morrison(Johnny Mundo) defeat Alberto El Patron (Del Rio).
