WWE Top 5 Rumors of the week and analysis: 27 March, 2016

Some interesting speculations have sprung up regarding the legends

The WWE rumor mill has been busy churning out WrestleMania-centric speculations throughout the past week. The sheer importance and gravity of the pay-per-view is the reason for the same, but that didn’t stop the internet from spewing out rumors which were not related to the show.

The internet buzzed about two possible signings for WWE, which could stir up the entire NXT scenario. Also, there were talks about bringing back a Hall of Famer into the roster along with the promotion of two superstars into the main roster.

The reason why New Day is inducting the Fabulous Freebirds was also part of the rumors. Here is the pick of the lot and their analysis.

Status of Zack Ryder and Emma on the main roster

Short term call-up

Zack Ryder recently got his place on the WrestleMania card as part of the multi-superstar ladder match for the Intercontinental championship. The move is only supposed to be a short-term thing and Zack was only chosen as a replacement for Neville, who was injured at the very last minute.

Zack is expected to be thrown back into the pit of irrelevance once the match ends.

Meanwhile, Zack's girlfriend Emma could also get a spot on the WrestleMania card as part of the second Divas match that WWE is planning. Just like Zack, if Emma gets the call-up, it would simply be a short-term gig and she would be back in NXT once WrestleMania wraps up.

Why New Day is inducting the Freebirds

Babyface turn coming

The reason why WWE is letting New Day induct the Fabulous Freebirds is because they want to consolidate the babyface turn of the faction. The Hall of Fame induction is expected to make New Day more lovable in front of the fans and also, WWE wanted to make the whole induction ceremony a bit more interesting for the fans as a whole.

Apart from this, Michael Hayes is said to be a big fan of the faction and loved the idea of New Day inducting Free birds into the class of 2016. Once WrestleMania is done and dusted, expect New Day to come out as full-fledged baby faces in the tag team division.

No plans to bring back Hulk Hogan

Hogan wants a return

Hulk Hogan – who recently got a fortune after winning his case against Gawker – is apparently looking to make a return to the WWE. Hogan got his name cleared in the court case and walked away with nearly 150 Million dollars as compensation for the damages he sustained.

Hogan was earlier released from WWE due to his racial controversy and now that it ended, Hogan thinks that there is an option to return.

The rumors, however, suggest otherwise. WWE apparently wants nothing to do with the Hulkster and there haven't been any talks about bringing him back to the company. Hogan, meanwhile, is expected to win more money from the case.

The retirement of Sting

Retired or not retired?

Last week, Sting put an end to his retirement rumors when he said that he is not officially retired. Although Sting said so, the rumors mill is suggesting that he is saving the impact for his official announcement through WWE.

The whole retirement rumor would've made his announcement obvious but now that Sting has come out to say that he is not retiring, there would be an element of surprise when he announces the same at the Hall of Fame ceremony.

There is one portion of the IWC who suggest that Sting is here to stay for one more year and work out his dream match with Undertaker before he hangs up his boots.

Bobby Roode and Eric Young heading to NXT

Could they be coming to NXT?

Bobby Roode and Eric Young were recently released from TNA and apparently, they will be headed straight to WWE NXT. The release of Young and Roode were made as per their request and this has fuelled the rumors of a potential jump to WWE.

Apparently, Dixie Carter was not present during the duo’s final night in TNA, so the farewell was conducted by other officials.

Young recently came out and said that he left TNA because he felt that it was time to move on. Both Young and Roode had signed with TNA together in 2004. Young, Roode, and WWE are yet to make a statement on the same and the situation would be clear once this happens.
