WWE Rumors: Titus O'Neil to feud with Rusev over United States Championship

He’s back with a vengeance

Rusev disposed of Kalisto to capture the United States Championship at WWE Extreme Rules. The Bulgarian Brute staked his claim by defeating Zack Ryder in a number one contender’s match on May 2nd.

The hulking Superstar granted former champion Kalisto the stipulated rematch on this week’s episode of SmackDown. The Luchador’s whirling offence couldn’t get the better of Rusev, who snuffed him out with a torturous Accolade.

After the match, Rusev looked to punctuate his victory by unloading on Kalisto, but he was in for a rude awakening from Titus O’Neil. The former WWE tag team champion came to Kalisto’s rescue and demanded a shot at the United States Championship. Here’s the video:

Cagesideseats.com reports that a Rusev-Titus feud for the title is on the cards. Titus, who was infamously suspended, returned to in-ring action in April worked a few live events. This is his first big appearance on WWE programming.

He was slapped with a 90-day suspension on account of “unprofessional conduct” after grabbing Mr. McMahon’s arm in jest, on Daniel Bryan’s farewell on the January 8th episode of RAW. It was reduced to 60 days after a while.
