WWE Rumours: Eric Young has reportedly signed with WWE

A reunion with his old TNA pals may become a reality soon

Eric Young is a veteran, who was a TNA loyalist, having a 12-year tenure with the company. He held multiple championships with TNA, even being a TNA World Heavyweight Champion at one point. He departed from TNA on March 19th, 2016, which led to several speculations about him coming to NXT.

In May 2015, Samoa Joe had arrived at NXT, being the first established TNA name to come into NXT, and also the first to be able to keep his name. Even established wrestlers such as Kenta(Hideo Itami) and Prince Devitt(Finn Balor) had to change their names into what it is now. However, Joe was a trend to start with.

AJ Styles, another veteran TNA name had come directly up to the main roster under his original ring name. Austin Aries then followed suit, as did Bobby Roode. Eric Young did appear on the May 4th Edition of NXT as well, where he confronted Samoa Joe and faced off with him, albeit in an unsuccessful effort.

In fact, James Storm has made a couple of appearances himself in NXT, though he went back to TNA almost immediately. It is being reported that James Storm thanked the fans in the last set of Impact tapings and said that he’d be joining his friends soon. This was a heavy implication that he would be returning to NXT, though it is still unsure whether that was an angle or a legitimate indication.

Eric Young and Bobby Roode both left TNA on very bad terms, as it has been reported that they are both owed a combined six figures by the company, which has a bad reputation when it comes to payment of their employees.

According to a report on a CBS Fantasy Football Podcast, Eric Young signing with WWE is a done deal. The host of the podcast, Jamey Eisenberg said that he recently met Eric Young, who told him that he has signed with NXT and that his return is pending, which is likely to happen over the next few weeks.

At NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, there was a video package that said “Sanity”. It is being speculated by many that this could be attributing to Eric Young. There has been speculation over other names as well, such as Roderick Strong, Tommy End, and Crazy Mary Dobson, all of whom are NXT bound.

It now looks like it is a matter of when, and not if, Eric Young joins his old TNA pals at NXT. Are you excited to see him with NXT permanently?
