WWE Rumors: Heath Slater and Rhyno to part ways?

Rhyno and Slater had a pretty decent run as SmackDown Tag Team Champions

Just days after losing the SmackDown Tag Team Championship to Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton at the TLC pay-per-view, the team of Rhyno and Heath Slater seems to be heading towards a split.

On this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, ‘Beauty and the Man Beast’ got their rematch against the Wyatt Family, but failed to win the titles back from the formidable pair of ‘The Viper’ and ‘The Eater Of The Worlds’.

Post the show; the duo was seen on Talking Smack, where they argued about their loss earlier in the night. A report from wrestlinginc.com states that this dissent, displayed by the former champions, could be the beginning of the end for the tag-team.

Rhyno started off by claiming that he alone was doing all the work in the match for their team. “I didn't know I was going to be the only one out in the ring tonight,” said the Man-Beast, appearing to blame his partner for the loss.

When Slater retaliated, saying that he did not know they were keeping score and that he was the one who had won them the titles, Rhyno reminded him about the fact that he had gored their opponents before ‘The One Man Brand’ picked up the win. Here’s what Rhyno had to say:

“What happened right before [the tag title victory]? I gored our opponents and you made the cover.”

To this, Heath Slater said that he has now lost the titles for them as well and this led to ‘The Man Beast’ storming off the set. Watch the duo discuss their woes on Talking Smack below:

This turn of events at last night’s Talking Smack certainly indicates that the first ever SmackDown Tag Team Champions may part ways soon. The association between Rhyno and Slater began during the latter’s ‘free agent’ gimmick earlier this year.

In order to earn a SmackDown Live contract, Slater was asked to find a partner to compete in the tournament for the newly-introduced title and win it. Rhyno offered to join forces with him, and the duo managed to qualify for the finals at Backlash, where they beat The Usos to become champions.
