WWE Rumours: Kevin Owens's first possible Universal title feud revealed

Kevin Owens could face Seth Rollins at the Clash of Champions PPV

As noted, Kevin Owens won Universal Championship after Triple H came out of nowhere and turned the tide in favour of the 32-year-old, by charging Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins with vicious Pedigrees. Within a few hours of the historic edition of Monday night Raw in Houston Texas, it has been reported that Kevin Owens will have his first title defence at WWE’s Clash of Champions PPV against the Architect of the WWE, Seth Rollins.

Triple H was out of the WWE frame after losing the Championship to Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania. He shockingly showed up and gave a Pedigree to Reigns, helping Seth Rollins to get the pinfall on his former Sheild partner. Since the match was fought under a no disqualification stipulation, everything the COO did was legal.

Just when everyone expected Triple H to help his former authority member, he turned and kicked Rollins in his gut and hit a Pedigree, allowing Kevin Owens to get the pinfall and become the new WWE Universal Champion. The fans were left stunned and at least some of them would have recalled the same angle that Triple H followed at Summerslam 2013, when he handed Randy Orton the title with a pedigree on Daniel Bryan.

As Owens celebrated in the ring and the show went off the air, the Houston crowd chanted "You deserve it” in unison. Both Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley were left dumbfounded by the events that unfolded in front of their eyes.

After all the twist and turns, a feud between Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens is most likely on the cards with Rollins and Owens having traded blows on Twitter regarding the WWE Universal Championship in the build up to the fatal-four-way match, which acts as an indicator of the reports being true.

With Owens holding the title, Rollins will look to reclaim it and add another dimension to the feud. What would be interesting to see is if the feud with Owens sets up Rollins as a face of RAW. Moreover, it seems that Triple H will be key to Raw's main event scene from now on, as Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins will be looking to extract some revenge in the coming episodes.
