It has now been confirmed that Roman Reigns’ push had been halted by Vince McMahon because of his Wellness Policy violation earlier this summer. Before the entire Wellness Policy scandal, Reigns was given the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and was being made into the next “John Cena”.
The fans hated him, and WWE tried their absolute best to make sure that fans warmed up to Reigns by any means necessary. But, since the entire policy violation issue, Reigns has been put in the mid-card against Rusev, as his punishment.
On the other hand ever since Seth Rollins got injured fans had been counting days until his return. Everybody thought Rollins would be back as a babyface along with a big ovation from the crowd. Rollins did receive an ovation when he came back, but much to the crowd’s dismay was once again positioned as a heel. Ever since the crowd has been waiting for Rollins’ babyface turn to take place, and a lot of people thought that might happen at SummerSlam but unfortunately, it didn’t.
Roman Reigns originally was supposed to be just in a short program with the United States Champion Rusev as a way for Reigns to work his way back up the ladder to prove himself and to try once again to get the fans behind him.
But, due to Finn Balor’s injury now all the plans have been halted. Thus, new plans were put in motion making Reigns now a part of a Fatal-4-Way match with Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, and Big Cass for the WWE Universal Championship.
Thus, with so many changes taking place creatively, there are plans being made within the company to have a big double turn take place, resulting in Reigns becoming a Heel, and Rollins turning into a face.
Personally, I thought after their SummerSlam match for the Universal Title, Balor would turn heel on Rollins by getting the Club involved in some way which would result in Rollins becoming the good guy. Reigns by beating up Rusev at SummerSlam made everyone think that he had turned into a heel, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case as Roman is still a face.
I really don’t have any idea how to make Roman into a heel and I’m just waiting to see how WWE manages to turn him into one.
