WWE Rumours: Paige to undergo neck surgery

Paige may be on the shelf for some time more

Paige has had a rollercoaster of a year. She has barely been featured on WWE television this year. After wrapping up a feud with Charlotte towards the end of last year where she had turned heel, Paige was absent from WWE television for a while due to injury. She returned in January as a babyface, and she was part of the Wrestlemania 32 Kickoff show, where she teamed with her fellow Total Divas cast members to take on Lana and her team.

After Wrestlemania, she made occasional appearances on television, even beating WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte on an episode of Raw, but unsuccessfully challenging her for the championship in another. Those matches were just the pretext for Sasha Banks to come out in her feud with Charlotte.

Also, Paige has been subject to much negativity due to her relationship with now-former WWE superstar Alberto Del Rio. It was reported that backstage officials were not happy about her relationship with Del Rio.

Paige has been on the shelves since June 27th with nagging neck injuries the reason behind her absence. She recently took to twitter to post an update on her health. Here is what she tweeted:

This definitely means that Paige will be on the shelves for a couple of months longer at least. However, that is speculation. WWE superstars have a reputation for being the hardest workers and coming back from injuries far sooner than expected. That is an example we have seen in John Cena, in Sasha Banks, among others, and it is something we would hope to see from Paige and Finn Balor as well.

Paige was drafted to the Raw brand. Right now, Raw has been featuring primarily 5 women. However, adding Paige to the mix would definitely spice things up, whether it is bringing her back as a heel or as a babyface. At this moment, bringing her back as a heel would be a good scenario as it gives her the option to feud with fresh talent such as Bayley, who is a natural babyface. Either way, her presence on the Raw female roster would be significant, and would definitely help to boost the division in the red brand.
