WWE Rumours: Kane to replace Randy Orton for match against Bray Wyatt at BackLash

Kane to replace Randy Orton at BackLash?

Ever since Randy Orton was annihilated at SummerSlam by Brock Lesnar, The Viper has been seen feuding with none other than The Eater of Worlds, Bray Wyat. The two have been cutting extensive promos, and good ones, on SmackDown Live! and their feud was expected to hit fever pitch at WWE BackLash – SmackDown’s first brand-exclusive pay-per-view.

With Backlash only a few hours away, reports are now coming that Randy Orton may not feature tonight and his match against Bray Wyatt will not happen tonight as The Viper has not been cleared by WWE’s medical team to participate due to a concussion.

The concussion was suffered by The Apex Predator in his match against Brock Lesnar, where The Beast Incarnate landed some lusty elbows on Orton to open up his forehead, which required 10 staples to close. The medical team was expecting the concussion to heal on time and had scheduled a late Concussion Impact test, however, the results were not encouraging.

It is now being reported by reputed journalist Dave Meltzer that Kane is the likely replacement for Orton to face Bray Wyatt at BackLash. The Big Red Machine was The Viper’s replacement at a recent live event in Raleigh, where he beat the Eater of Worlds in a clean finish.

The report has not been confirmed by the WWE as yet, but a pull out of this magnitude will surely be either confirmed or denied by the WWE very soon.

According to Meltzer, Orton – who was nursing a concussion – was expected to be cleared for tonight’s fight but it did not happen and hence he will not be competing tonight. Although, he did add that The Viper is present backstage at BackLash.

Here’s the tweet:

It will be interesting to see how the WWE responds to this and what adjustment do they make in such a short span of time, given that Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt may not have been the main event of tonight’s pay-per-view, but it certainly was a huge crowd attraction. We will keep you updated, as and when, the news is confirmed or denied by the WWE.

What do you think WWE will do? How will they respond to it. Will they change the match or cancel it? Or will they call someone else to feud with Bray. Or maybe they might just have a segment of the two, where the two are seen cutting promos.
