WWE Rumours: Roman Reigns to become WWE Universal Champion on Raw

Roman Reigns to become the second WWE Universal Champion

WWE Superstar Roman Reigns who had recently been relegated to the mid-card for his Wellness Policy Violation earlier this year is expected to be pushed as the top guy in the WWE once again with reports suggesting that The Big Dog is expected to win Monday Night Raw’s Fatal 4-Way clash for the WWE Universal Champion against Seth Rollins, Big Cass and Kevin Owens.

Earlier, it was reported that Vince McMahon was unhappy with Reigns’ Wellness Policy Violation – reportedly due to the consumption of Adderall – and wanted the Superstar to work his way up by participating in mid-card matches with WWE United States champion Rusev.

However, following the untimely injury to the first ever WWE Universal Champion – Finn Balor – the creative team don’t have much option apart from Reigns to push as the top babyface of RAW – as WWE do not have any other top face in the Red Brand.

Rollins, who lost the match to Balor for the Universal Championship, was also not expected to be in the running for the title until later this year, but all the plans went for a toss due to the Demon’s injury.

It has also been reported that a double turn could be on the cards with Rollins turning face and Reigns heel, but there is nothing confirmed as yet. It was expected that Rollins would return from his injury as a face while Reigns was expected to turn heel, however, that didn’t happen and the issue with the double turn is that Balor’s return also plays a part in it.

Once he has recovered from his shoulder surgery, Balor is expected to come back and challenge Rollins to get his title back – one that he had to relinquish and didn’t exactly lose. But if the turn happens then this scenario will no longer be possible.

However, it is still possible that one of Kevin Owens or Seth Rollins walks out as the champion on Monday Night Raw.
