This week’s SmackDown was WWE’s last opportunity to hype it’s Night of Champions matches.

The show opened Big Show making his way into the ring. Big Show apologized for his actions on RAW and says he didn’t set a good example. Triple H then entered and suspended Big Show for the night without pay and asks Big Show to move out of the ring. As Show is moving out, The Shield’s music hits who immediately pounce of the big man.

Show fights back after being dropkicked out of the ring and then follows it with a flurry of attacks. Big Show dominates the three men inside the ring and gets ready to KO Rollins. But Ambrose and Reigns hit him with a chair from behind and hit the Triple Powerbomb on him to end the segment.

Brie Bella, Naomi & Natalya vs Alicia Fox, Aksana & Layla

AJ Lee is on commentary who interrupts the match moments after it started. The Total Divas fight back and Brie hits a faceplant and Naomi connects a huge lariat. Natalya goes for the Sharpshooter but the other three pull AJ out of the ring.

Winner: Brie Bella, Naomi & Natalya

Dance off between Fandango, Miz, R-Truth and the Great Khali. Fandango gets booed followed by Khali who gets decent cheers. Miz finally wins the dance off putting an end to a horrible segment.

Ryback introduces his latest victim named Robert Evans. Robert is a skinny tall guy from the Ottawa and he says he aspires to work in the WWE. Ryback kicks him in the gut and makes us hear Evans groan in pain.

Damien Sandow vs Santino Marella

Santino hits the Cobra on Sandow to pick up the victory.

Winner: Santino Marella

Paul Heyman and Curtis Axel are interviewed by Michael Cole. Heyman says that if at Night of Champions Punk will find a way to get his hands on Heyman. He says that the match should be called off because Punk will slaughter him and this will be the last time we will get to see him. The crowd start a ‘goodbye’ chant as Heyman and Axel leave the ring. Excellent way to promote the match.

Alberto Del Rio vs Ricardo Rogriguez

A decent back and forth match that saw Ricardo hit a few impressive moves. A tornado DDT and a great dropkick saw Ricardo get a near fall on Del Rio. But ADR hit the front suplex on Ricardo to get the victory.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

ADR then applies the cross arm breaker on Ricardo as RVD makes the save. He hits the 5 star frog splash and poses with the World Heavyweight Championship.

Dean Ambrose vs Dolph Ziggler

The stipulation of the match is that if Ziggler manages to win this he will get to face Ambrose for the title at NOC. Anyway that was by far the longest match of the night that saw some excellent back and forth action. Reigns and Rollins interfere to end the match in a disqualification. The Usos then made the save.

Vickie came out and made it a 6-man tag match.

The Usos & Ziggler vs The Shield

Again with solid performers in the ring this was a great match. Rollins looked fluent as usual and Ziggler sold every move to perfection. After several great spots and back and forth action Rollins lifts his boot up to a high flying move of Uso to pick up the victory.

Winner: The Shield

Next it is the ‘Cutting Edge’ show. Edge’s music hits to a huge pop and he comes in and speaks for a few moments. He asks Christian to destroy the Shield and then introduces Randy Orton.

Edge then calls Daniel Bryan to a huge pop and then asks Orton about how it feels to be a sellout. Orton says Edge is jealous that he is a 10 time Champion. Edge reminds Orton of him being a 11 time Champion.

Daniel Bryan tells that he doesn’t care what’s good for business as long as he is Champion. Orton says he will help Bryan get the Title if he really wants it that bad. He then shoves the title on Bryan’s face and starts striking him. Bryan counters to the ‘YES’ Lock. Referees then make it in to break the lock as Orton rolls out of the ring.

Bryan celebrates with the ‘YES’ chants as the show ends.
