WWE SmackDown, 14th March - Preview

WWE taped the upcoming SmackDown episode in the Verizon Arena, North Little Rock, Ark this Tuesday. The show is expected to see WWE take forward the undercard and midcard bouts in Wrestlemania. Additionally WWE will expected to set the tone for RAW next week by propelling the top storylines forward. Here is a preview of the matches that were taped on Tuesday this week.

Big E vs Fandango

This match will come as a refreshing change for both the wrestlers and the fans as they have been pitting against the same foe for quite a few weeks now. Big E will get some time off from the Real Americans who have some problems to sort within their own group. Fans too can expect some relief as they will not have to go through another Fandango vs Santino headache.

Speaking of Fandango, this can be a great opportunity for the lad to come out of the slump that he is in right now. After losing the Intercontinental Title to Big E last year, the going has been rather dismal for the ballet dancer. Hopefully an upset here can help him shift gears. Big E is one of the first confirmend participants in the Andre The Giant 30 man battle royal and picking a win over the Intercontinental Champion can give Fandango a free pass to this epic battle royal.

Big E on the other hand will want to solidify his stand as a strong champion and would like to carry on with his winning ways. He however has to be aware that the Real Americans will use every opportunity to help Fandango take away a victory.

Dolph Ziggler vs Alberto Del Rio

Del Rio and Ziggler have always had great chemistry inside the ring which was pretty apparent in their feud last year. After distracting Ziggler in his match with Christian on RAW last week, Ziggler will look to even things by beating Del Rio on SmackDown.

Given their excellent chemistry, it seems as though WWE is going to settle with a feud between these two as both have nothing better going outside this feud. As unimpressive as it sounds, one can expect a showdown between the ‘Show Off’ and Del Rio in Wrestlemania this year.

Real Americans vs Cody Rhodes and Goldust

The Real Americans are clearly showing signs of breaking up as the crack between Cesaro and Swagger seemed to grow bigger this week on RAW. Cesaro laughed at Swagger after the latter lost his match against Big E. The two however seemed to get back thanks to some advice from Colter, but fans will be keen to see more of this when they take on the former tag champions Cody Rhodes and Goldust.

After losing their titles, Rhodes and Goldust will need strong victories to climb up the ladder and challenge the champions for a match. The Usos too do not have an opponent and it will be interesting the two teams take on each other.

Seth Rollins vs Damien Sandow

This match should come as a breath of relief for fans who have gotten tired of watching the same superstars take on each other over and over again. Sandow who was denied a match this week on RAW by fans who occupied the ring will have to face a difficult opponent for not obeying Triple H‘s order.

Seth Rollins too will get a rare singles opportunity to showcase his talent that is otherwise hidden when among the Shield. Sandow will look to desperately pick up a victory in this match but with Rollins’ speed and skill inside the ring that does look like a huge hurdle to say the least.

Bray Wyatt vs Kofi Kingston

It will be difficult to expect a Kofi Kingston victory here as the high flyer has been nowhere for the past few months. Wyatt on the other hand has been exceptional in his feud with John Cena especially during the promos where he has completely outdone the Superman of the company.

Expect Wyatt to pick up a victory over Kingston and solidify his stance as a strong force against Cena. It should be interesting to see Wyatt in a singles match as we haven’t seen him compete alone very often.

Big Show vs Kane

The two giants will face off each other after Show used his huge right hand to knock Kane down and pin him to pick up a victory on RAW this week. This has quite obviously infuriated the corporate grunt Kane who will look to stamp authority over Show who has more often than not created problems for the authority with his knock-out fist.

This match which is the main event of the night does look a compelling bout and one that should keep the crowd and viewers interested.
