Dean Ambrose announces the stipulation in Smackdown’s opening segment

On their road to the biggest party of the Summer, WWE made a stop in Laredo, Texas for the Friday Night Smackdown show as we are just 9 days away from SummerSlam.

The opening segment saw Dean Ambrose come out to announce his desired stipulation for his match against Seth Rollins while The Big Show made a big return to Friday night. Randy Orton was in the main event match as it ended in utter chaos.

Here are the results.

Ambrose announces the stipulation

With the power to decide the stipulation after winning beat the clock challenge last Monday on Raw, Ambrose made his way into the ring to make his choice of match public as Smackdown kicked off. Ambrose reminded Rollins that regardless of whatever stipulation he decides, his former tag-team partner will meet his end at the PPV. Ambrose then revealed that his match against Rollins would be a Lumberjack match.

Rollins then appeared and with the right to pick Ambrose’s opponent on the night, passed on the news to his SummerSlam adversary that he would be facing The Viper Randy Orton.

Big Show and Mark Henry vs Rybaxel

The World’s Largest Athlete made his return to Smackdown as he teamed up with the World’s Strongest Man Mark Henry to face the team of Rybaxel. Ryback was taken down by the World’s Strongest Slam from Mark Henry before Show took out Curtis Axel with the Chokeslam for the pin

Paige vs Natalya

The No.1 contender to the Divas Championship was in action as she went up against Natalya. With nine days away from facing her frenemy AJ Lee at SummerSlam, Paige defeated the Hart Foundation member via submission after the third-generation Diva tapped out to the PTO.

Winner: Paige

Rusev vs Big E

In a display of pure dominance, the incomparable Rusev reigned supreme over former Intercontinental Champion Big E with the Accolade. Will he be able to conquer Jack Swagger as easily in a Flag Match of international proportions at SummerSlam?

Winner: Rusev

Dean Ambrose and Randy Orton during the Smackdown main event

Dean Ambrose vs Randy Orton

In the final moments of a furious SmackDown main event, Dean Ambrose evaded Randy Orton’s RKO to hit The Viper with Dirty Deeds. But before he could pick up the three-count, Seth Rollins pulled him out of the ring, forcing a disqualification in the process. Mr. Money in the Bank then unleashed a vicious post-match attack on his war-torn adversary.

While Ambrose fought back with everything he had left, a two-on-one assault by Rollins and Orton ultimately proved too much. In the end, Rollins humiliated Ambrose by dousing him with a fan’s soda before putting out the lights with a Curb Stomp.

Winner: Dean Ambrose via DQ
