WWE Smackdown spoilers - August 22, 2014

Roman Reigns and The Miz battled in the main event of Smackdown

This week’s WWE Smackdown tapings took place in Laredo, Texas and as always we have the results revealed from beforehand. So if you want to know how things turned out two days prior to the broadcast, here are the early unwrapped spoilers from the show.

• Smackdown kicks off with a promo featuring Randy Orton talking about Roman Reigns having won the battle but not the war. He says what he will do to Rob Van Dam in the night’s main event should be an example of what he will do to other superstars.
• Seth Rollins beats Jack Swagger by count out after hitting him with a Curb Stomp outside the ring. Bo Swagger comes out to the arena after the match and tells Swagger to keep Bo-lieving and not be a Jack Zero.
• Backstage segment with The Miz asking Kane for another shot against Dolph Ziggler. Kane refuses but puts him in a match against Roman Reigns.
• Rusev squashed Sin Cara
• A backstage segment with Rob Van Dam, which is interrupted by an assault from behind by Randy Orton. They brawl, and continue all the way to the ring. Both get counted out, but Randy Orton does not stop. He viciously attacks Van Dam and hits the draping DDT from the barrier.
• Natalia and Paige meet in a non-title match. AJ Lee comes out and takes the Divas Title. Paige grabs the title back, but Natalya waits for the opportune time and gets the win with a Sharpshooter.
• Stardust and Golddust defeat Erick Rowan and Luke Harper, but get beaten up after the match.
• Roman Reigns wins over The Miz with a Spear. Randy Orton comes out after the match and has a staredown with Reigns. The night finishes with the two of them having a brawl.
