Stone Cold Steve Austin is one of those stars who is never afraid to talk his mind. Austin was speaking with Jim Ross on the latest episode of the Ross Report which was the special 100th episode. Austin spoke about CM Punk. Wrestlemania 32, the WWE in general and more.
On the current state of the WWE
Austin was wrestling in the WWE during its golden era. There were stars such as the Rock, Triple H and Mick Foley along with Austin which made it such a great product to watch. WWE has been on the decline since the Ruthless Aggression Era, which was dominated by the likes of Edge.
Austin said that there was a direct relation to the injuries faced by the superstars to the amount of hours they were working. He added that he does not think that anyone works wrong.
He also stated that the polarizing heel and babyface concept does not exist nowadays. He praised divas such as Bayley and Sasha Banks and said that they have the potential to headline Wrestlemania.
On Roman Reigns
When Jim Ross asked Stone Cold about Roman Reigns, he had a lot to say. He said that the stress Roman must be under comes from his place as a main eventer.
He also stated that the best way for Roman to be over with all sections of fans would be a heel turn just like the Rock. He also spoke about the Roman vs Authority storyline which is similar to his and said that it can be a very good one, but probably not as great as his.
On CM Punk
There was a time a few years back where a possible Stone Cold vs CM Punk match up was speculated.
When asked about this match, Stone Cold revealed that he was not serious about it as he had retired from all in-ring action. He praised CM Punk by saying that he absolutely is extraordinary at everything he does. He added that he would have loved to work with CM Punk.
On the new signings made by the WWE
WWE have recently made new signings which have shaken the wrestling world. Acclaimed superstars such as AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura have been rumoured to ply their trade in the WWE
He revealed that he was extremely optimistic about these stars coming to the WWE. He praised them and said that the only thing that would hamper this would be if the WWE booked them erroneously.
He added that they should bring all these stars as a unit and should book them like they are supposed to be booked, which would get them extremely over with the fans.
