TNA/WWE Rumours: Matt Hardy wants to buy TNA

Will he be the one?

According to Wrestlinginc.com, TNA Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy says he’s interested in buying TNA. He has revealed this in a series of tweets given below.

Now this could just be in-character tweets but it has to be noted that Hardy has commented on the company being up for sale. Apart from that given TNA’s current status, anything is possible now.

TNA has become so vulnerable that it was thought that the promotion lacked the funds to run the event “Bound For Glory” and according to The New York Post “An unidentified third party” funded the event.

The downfall of TNA can be attibuted to multiple reasons like creative decision, mishandling of finances and losing their biggest stars such as Christian, RVD, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels and Sting.

The biggest reason of all has to be the decision to move IMPACT Wrestling to Monday nights directly in competition with the most popular wrestling show, RAW.

With latest rumours indicating that the final episode of IMPACT this year is planned for the all-Broken Matt Hardy, it shows how hard TNA is trying to retreive it’s sinking ship.

It is believed that currently it is WWE who are in the driver’s seat in terms of taking over the company. WWE is most likely interested just in the video library and retain a few talent, which in turn shuts down TNA’s operation completely.

According to Ric Flair, Dixie Carter created the WWE rumours to drive up the buying price of IMPACT wrestling. He said this on his latest podcast.

“I think that that’s a rumor that Dixie Carter put out to try and raise the ante”.

With the confirmation of WWE’s new tier based Network survey including TNA providing access to the video gallery of TNA, the deal looks sealed but miracles do happen in the world of professional wrestling.

On the other hand, Dixie Carter has stated that she would not allow the WWE to purchase TNA as she doesn’t want wrestlers to lose their job. But given the current situation, she may have no choice.

Matt Hardy has been acclaimed for his “Broken” gimmick which has given TNA some life in the past few months. He had a wild feud alongwith Jeff Hardy which included the “The Final Deletion”. He has been a loyal servant to TNA ever since leaving WWE in 2010.
