The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has been the standout pro-wrestling promotion in the world for a number of years now. Having a career in WWE is a stuff of dreams for any wrestler fighting professionally.
Some wrestlers however, have managed to carve out a legacy in the WWE, featuring in bookings for years and highlighting pay-per-view events and being major attractions on weekly features like SmackDown and RAW.
We list those WWE wrestlers who have made the most appearances of all time in the WWE.
10. Sheamus (916)
The Irish wrestler has been a part of the WWE stable since 2006 when he was a part of the team escorting D-Generation X (consisting of Shawn Michaels and Triple H) from ringside. He had also received a pedigree from Triple H in that appearance.
The Celtic Warrior has been the WWE World Heavyweight Champion thrice and was the defending WWE World Heavyweight Champion before losing his title to Roman Reigns in a title match at RAW, ending his third stint as a champion in just 22 days.
9. The Miz (989)
Michael Mizanin, known by his moniker, “The Miz” is an American actor and wrestler who currently holds the title of the WWE Intercontinental Champion. He has been performing in the WWE since September 2006, when he had gone undefeated for three months before being defeated by the Boogeyman.
The Miz held the WWE Championship for a period of 5 months, from December 2010 to May 2011, he was later defeated at Extreme Rules in a triple threat steel cage match by John Cena. He also fell out with his stunt double and impersonator Damien Mizdow in 2015 after he started gaining more attention. He then defeated Mizdow at RAW to hold exclusive rights over the “Miz” brand.
8. Chris Jericho (996)
Chris Jericho has come a long way from his Y2J days for the WWE way back at the turn of the millennium in 1999-2000. He left the franchise in 2005 after winning 7 intercontinental championships and one WWF championship.
He rejoined the business in 2007 and won his 8th Intercontinental Championship by defeating Jeff Hardy. Jericho left the WWE again in 2010 after being punted in the head by Randy Orton in the September 27th episode of RAW. He has since intermittently starred for the WWE appearing for some periods of time each year.
7. Stardust (1018)
Cody Rhodes is the son of legendary wrestler Dusty Rhodes and half-brother of longtime WWE superstar, Goldust. Cody fights under the title of Stardust since late 2014, when he had teamed up with his brother Goldust to form the “Brotherhood”. He had fought as Cody Rhodes after initially teaming up with Hardcore Holly when he made his debut in 2007.
The Brotherhood was dissolved when Stardust rebelled against his brother by giving him a “Cross Rhodes” at RAW on February 2016. He memorably competed in the ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 32 which was won by Zack Ryder.
6. Kofi Kingston (1034)
Kofi Kingston is a Ghanaian-American superstar of the WWE roster. He forms a third of the “New Day” along with Big E and Xavier Woods who are currently the WWE Tag Team Champions. Kingston has won 12 championships in his time for the WWE since his debut in 2006.
He joined the New Day in July 2014 and won the tag team championship with them at Royal Rumble 2016 after defeating the Dudley Boyz. He is now the longest combined reigning tag team champion, after beating John Morrison’s record held since 2008.
5. Dolph Ziggler (1058)
Dolph Ziggler debuted in the WWE in 2005 as a sidekick for Kerwin White. He later joined the Spirit Squad which debuted on RAW in January 2006, winning the World Tag Team Championship once before being sent to the Ohio Valley Wrestling.
He returned to the WWE in 2008 and has held the World Heavyweight Championship twice and the Intercontinental Championship four times. Ziggler also won the Money in the Bank in 2012. He was also involved in an on-screen love affair with Lana who kissed him at RAW on May 25, 2015.
4. Randy Orton (1087)
Randy ‘the viper’ Orton has been a long serving WWE superstar who has been a 12 time world champion. He has held the WWE World Heavyweight Championship eight times and the World Heavyweight Championship 4 times.
Lately, Randy Orton has been struck by various injuries but remains a reliable superstar who attracts crowds wanting to see him execute the infamous RKO. Orton is currently out of action with a shoulder injury, which took him out of a Hell in a Cell match, suffered during a tag team match with Dean Ambrose against the New Day.
3. John Cena (1179)
John Cena is arguably the most famous superstar on the WWE roster today and has been credited to be the public face of the organization. Cena has been part of the franchise since 2005. Cena has enjoyed a successful career, having 15 reigns as World Champion. He has won the Royal Rumble twice and has headlined Wrestlemania on five different occasions throughout his career.
Cena was involved in a feud with Rusev in 2015 when Rusev was playing the Soviet Red Star to Cena’s American Dream. He is currently recuperating from a shoulder injury and is expected to return to RAW in two weeks.
2. The Big Show (1368)
The Big Show has been performing as WWE’s giant since 1999. He is known for his height and strength and has been described as the 10th tallest professional wrestler in history. He has been the World Heavyweight Champion seven times and is the only person to have held ECW, WWE, and WCW at the same time in his career.
Big Show was involved in a feud against The Authority in 2015 after being publicly humiliated by them. He later turned heel and joined them after turning on John Cena at Survivor Series. He recently fought in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal where he fought against an old enemy, Shaquille O’Neal. He had to be eliminated by multiple participants.
1. Kane (1555)
Kane joined the WWE in 1995 and is in his third decade in the organization. The masked version of Kane was introduced in 1997 when he was called the demonic younger brother of The Undertaker. They were called the Brothers of Destruction as both supposedly held demonic powers.
Kane was an important part of WWE’s Attitude Era and has won the World Championship thrice, having won the WWF Championship, ECW Championship and World Heavyweight Championship once each. Kane returned as a demon at Night of Champions to prevent Sheamus from cashing in Money in the Bank breifcase. He also reunited with The Undertaker to fight the Wyatt family.
Kane fought in WrestleMania 32 in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal being the last wrestler to be eliminated by Baron Corbin.
