WWE Top 5 Rumors of the Week and Analysis : 15 May, 2016

Not here to stay?

The interest factor surrounding WWE is going in an upward direction thanks to the good booking that they’ve been doing for the past few weeks. They have a solid main event thanks to Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, the Usos and the Club, and this is supported by a very strong mid card that has its own standout feuds.

What we could conclude from all this is that Extreme Rules is going to be an exciting pay-per-view. With the fans happy about how the promotion is going, there has been a huge flow of rumors into the internet. And we are going to take a look at the top ones from the past week and dissect them to find out the possibilities.

5: Big push for Emma

Good times

WWE is apparently high when it comes to Emma and she might get a good push thanks to this. Emma, who had a great start to her WWE career thanks to her stay in NXT, never really got the chance to shine in the main roster. However, things could change thanks to the call-up of Dana Brooke to the main roster.

WWE pulled off the call up due to the injury to Naomi and Tamina. The debut of Dana did create a lot of buzz and the momentum is going to be carried forward as well. Emma could feature prominently in the women’s division through the coming months and it would be safe to say that the fans will be happy with this development.

4: Break up in plans

Ready for lone run?

Charlotte has been enjoying her run as the Women’s champion lately and her father, Ric Flair has had a huge impact on the reign so far. The involvement of Ric has helped Charlotte to elevate herself as a solid heel in the roster and Ric, as always, is easy to hate. This combination, however, could come to an end as WWE is planning to break the duo up.

The involvement of Ric Flair has been incorporated into the WWE storylines recently and soon, Flair might completely get axed. There are no rumors about whether or not Flair would remain in the WWE television once the break up happens.

3: Repackaging Alberto Del Rio

Carrying heat?

Alberto Del Rio has been in the news lately thanks to the photos that surfaced on the internet where he was seen getting cozy with Paige. He might be hearing another good news soon, as WWE is planning to repackage the Mexican star. WWE apparently wants Del Rio to have his own personal ring announcer and they are looking to sign up Melissa Santos from Lucha Underground to be the same.

In another rumor about Del Rio, it was noted that he is not happy with his current position in the company. He apparently has a lot of heat with Triple H and things could unravel soon.

2: Shane McMahon to leave soon?

Not a permanent performer

The initial plans for Shane McMahon involved only a WrestleMania match against the Undertaker. However, as the presence of Shane in the card was able to generate a lot of attraction among the WWE fans, Vince McMahon decided it was better if Shane stuck around for some more time and it was decided to keep Shane on television.

Though Shane is a huge part of the show these days, he is not expected to stay around permanently. Shane is still pretty much a part-time performer and he could leave the company earlier than most people expect. There is also a rumor making the rounds which suggest that the Shane – Stephanie angle could lead to a brand split.

1: Next appearance of Brock Lesnar

Set for SummerSlam

Brock Lesnar has been off-television for quite some time now, but the Beast is expected to be back in action in August. There are no news on whom Lesnar will be feuding upon his return, but he will indeed feature at SummerSlam and the buildup for his match will start once he makes his return. Elsewhere, WWE is also planning a big team feud for the pay-per-view.

The AJ Styles vs. Roman Reigns feud is expected to wind up in time for Money in the Bank. So, it is not going to be Reigns, and Usos vs. The Club. So watch out for a new stable in the town that could feature prominently in the buildup to SummerSlam.
