WWE News: WWE World Championship belt coming to Mumbai

Will this be the belt coming to Mumbai?

2016 has undoubtedly been a great year for WWE in India. First, it kickstarted in January with a two-day live event in New Delhi, which featured superstars such as Roman Reigns, Rusev, The Big Show, Kane, American Alpha, Tyler Breeze, Charlotte, among others. It was without question a very successful two-day live event.

Last month, Alberto Del Rio visited India, first going to East Bengal Club in Kolkata, then Garuda Mall in Bengaluru to promote the upcoming game, WWE 2K17. Del Rio was said to be mesmerized by the crowds in both Kolkata and Bengaluru, as they turned up in large numbers in both cities to see Mexico’s greatest export.

New Delhi, Bengaluru, and Kolkata got a slice of the WWE pie so far this year, but this month, Mumbai are getting a slice as well! On August 14th to 16th, the WWE World Championship is coming to St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.

It is unlikely that the WWE Universal Championship will be the belt displayed, as they are yet to reveal it. They are either going to reveal it on the August 15th edition of Raw or at Summerslam.

WWE posted on social media:”The Gold is coming home! The WWE Championship will be at St. Xavier’s, Mumbai, from 14th to 16th August

WWE very well knows the value that the Indian market holds in the long run and are doing their bit in keeping touch with the rabid fanbase. After Del Rio’s visit, followed by the upcoming arrival of the WWE Championship, we can only hope that WWE follows it up with a big name or two gracing the Indian shoree soon.

Which superstar would you like to see come to India next?
