WWE News: Zeb Colter to try his hand at stand-up comedy

Zeb Colter
The 66-year-old is trying something new with his career

As we reported earlier, Dutch Mantell, formerly known as Zeb Colter among WWE fans has started taking independent bookings for personal appearances.

Now it looks like the career of Colter as an independent agent has taken off as he is scheduled to appear on a show on August 10, 2016 in Nashville. Although, unlike his WWE gimmick, Colter will be appearing as a stand-up comedian on the show.

The synopsis of the show reads like this:

" Hailing all the way from Oil Trough, Texas, everyone knows that “DIRTY” DUTCH MANTELL is about as tough as they come, crossing paths with some of pro wrestling’s most famous (and infamous) performers, like WWE Hall of Famers Ric Flair, Abdullah the Butcher, Jerry Lawler, and countless others.

Many are also aware that backstage, Dutch is known as one of the preeminent storytellers with a keen mind for the creative side of the business.

After decades of wrestling around the world and managing some of the industry’s biggest stars, Zeb Colter is now hitting the comedy stage, showcasing the same light-hearted wit that went into his two successful memoirs, “The World According to Dutch” and “Tales from a Dirt Road.”

It's notable here that after spending a few years working as a writer for TNA, Colter made his WWE return back in 2013. In his latest run, he worked as an on-screen manager for many WWE superstars including Jack Swagger and Alberto Del Rio before finally being released back in May this year.
