5 reasons why Bray Wyatt should join AEW

Bray Wyatt
Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt has been released by WWE. You read that right. In what was a highly bewildering development, The Fiend has been cut by WWE.

Nobody knows where he will end up next, but considering the magnitude of the news and the star power attached to the 2-time WWE Universal Champion, he won't be short of suitors.

Bray Wyatt is one of the most unique performers in the world. He's a big man but capable of wrestling technical matches against various types of opponents. His quickness and agility belies his size and he is a phenom on the mic.

What makes him unique, however, is his brain. Wyatt has the tendency and ability to carve out intriguing and complex storylines and characters that make his segments and promos a must-see.

It is impossible not to tout a huge move to AEW for the former WWE Champion. Bray Wyatt is a big name in the wrestling industry as well as a legitimate main event attraction. His presence and creativity will definitely be a huge boost Tony Khan's promotion and add a new multi-dimensional character to AEW's roster.

There are enough reasons to get excited at the prospect of Bray Wyatt joining AEW and without any delay, let us see why.

#5. AEW's lighter schedule will suit Bray Wyatt

AEW currently has one weekly televised show and two shows streaming on YouTube. AEW Rampage will be the second show on TNT starting August and AEW has no live events yet.

Bray Wyatt has had a long layoff from wrestling due to personal issues, and a lighter schedule will be just the right thing to get him back in rhythm. Moreover, AEW has a reputation for having a lighthearted and fun backstage atmosphere, providing a great environment for Bray Wyatt to thrive in, and pursue his wrestling career the way he wants to. Wyatt also has friends in AEW he's worked with before, which will no doubt aid in help settling him in.

AEW has two hours of TV time every week and a host of big names. Not every big name appears every week, meaning Bray Wyatt won't need to be present in every show and he is too big a name to appear on Dark or Dark: Elevation.

#4. AEW will bestow upon Bray Wyatt a creative freedom he may never have seen before

As mentioned previously, Bray Wyatt is one of the most creative minds in all of wrestling. His ability to create fascinating characters and weave them into intricate storylines makes him more valuable than a wrestler who may only be good in the ring,

AEW is a place that allows wrestlers to have reasonable control over their characters and doesn't stifle wrestlers creatively. There's no way around the fact that WWE missed out, not once, but multiple times to capitalize on just how amazing a creative mind Bray Wyatt is.

His high-profile losses to Randy Orton, John Cena, The Undertaker and Seth Rollins severely stunted the growth of what should have been a megastar by now. Instead, fans were consistently disappointed by highly questionable decisions on WWE's part, none worse than John Cena beating Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania and Seth Rollins beating The Fiend at Hell in a Cell.

At AEW, Wyatt will have the opportunity to work on his character in whichever way he wants without micro-management at every step. Wyatt is exceptional on the mic and he's excellent between the ropes.

WWE has a notorious reputation for watering down its talent's movesets, so AEW will allow Wyatt to express himself more in the ring as well.

#3. Bray Wyatt can have a number of dream feuds in AEW

Bray Wyatt was once considered a breath of fresh air for the industry. AEW has also been called a breath of fresh air in the wrestling industry, housing some of the best talents in the world and giving them a shackle-free environment to work in. This has allowed some superstars like Jon Moxley and Malakai Black to revitalize their characters while building up some new interesting ones like Darby Allin.

Now imagine Bray Wyatt and Malakai Black unleashing a verbal barrage upon each other, featuring in dark vignettes and wrestling each other without restrictions. Or a completely unhinged Jon Moxley gong after a crafty Bray Wyatt who is keen on playing psychological mind games with the former AEW world champion.

Better still: AEW's resident introvert, the fearless and unforgiving Darby Allin, sacrificing everything to get his hands on Bray Wyatt. The stories and matches are endless and are all goosebumps-inducing. The mere thought of Sting and Bray Wyatt staring each other down in the center of an AEW ring would be a sight to behold for any wrestling fan.

Well, speaking of Sting...

#2. Sting.

Bray Wyatt has long been touted as the successor to The Undertaker. Through no fault of his own, that never transpired and we were all left with a bunch of what-ifs. WWE did have a Bray Wyatt vs Undertaker match at WrestleMania in what should have been a passing-of-the-torch moment but The Dead Man went over.

Sting vs Undertaker has been the dream match for wrestling fans of all ages for over 2 decades and may actually never happen. The next best thing would be Bray Wyatt vs Sting, a match of truly epic proportions.

The Icon made his in-ring return in 2021 at AEW Double or Nothing and worked extremely well in a tag team match against The Men of the Year. Sting probably has one more match in him and if the Eater of the Worlds is to join AEW, it absolutely has to be against Bray Wyatt.

Everything about the match screams money and excitement. Even if it is not a standard match, a cinematic match would be absolutely incredible. The Bray Wyatt vs John Cena Firefly Funhouse Match will go down as one of the most memorable in the modern era. Now imagine that with Sting who has a career that started in 1985.

#1. Bray Wyatt and the Dark Order

Dark Order became a force under Brodie Lee
Dark Order became a force under Brodie Lee

Bray Wyatt leading the Dark Order would be the zenith of poetic endings and the start of something extraordinary.

Dark Order started as a dull and uninspiring faction in AEW and were pretty forgettable until one Mr. Brodie Lee took over and made them a force to be reckoned with. His tragic passing didn't undo his outstanding work as the Dark Order are still going very strong after forming an alliance with Hangman Adam Page.

Adam Page is not their leader, though. There is nobody more suited to that role than Bray Wyatt. Brodie Lee, fka Luke Harper in WWE, was Wyatt's protege in the Wyatt Family, and Wyatt taking over from where his friend left off would be one of the most emotional and powerful angles in modern wrestling history.

Bray Wyatt will get the chance to cement his legacy in the wrestling business by leading a group of misfits that his dear friend turned into a fearful group of warriors. There is no doubt that he will be able to take them to unprecedented heights. Very rarely do we see a match so perfectly made. Bray Wyatt to AEW should happen for this and this alone.
