Wrestling is great thanks to AEW, NJPW, IMPACT Wrestling, AAA and a host of other independent promotions decimating the forbidden door. Cross-promotional matches have made wrestling highly unpredictable and intriguing, with anyone capable of showing up anywhere.

This week was a big one as AAA and NJPW welcomed back fans for big events. AAA Triplemania XXIX was headlined by two AEW guys, Kenny Omega and Andrade El Idolo while NJPW Resurgence saw Lance Archer defend his IWGP US heavyweight title against Hiroshi Tanahashi.

Apart from the aforementioned names, there were a host of AEW stars who were sprinkled across both shows. Let us take a look at all the names from All Elite Wrestling who showed up in the marquee Mexican and Japanese promotions' events.

AEW World Champion Kenny Omega defended the AAA Mega Championship against Andrade El Idolo

AAA Triplemania XXIX's marquee match was a blockbuster showdown between Andrade El Idolo and Kenny Omega for the AAA Mega Championship.

The match started with a shocker as Ric Flair walked out to reveal himself as Andrade's manager and stayed in his corner throughout. The Nature Boy even locked in the figure-four leglock on Konnan in a great spot.

Omega and Andrade delivered as expected. The match was hard-hitting and featured some excellent moves and counters from both men. In the end, the Best Bout Machine emerged victorious with a One-Winged Angel on the AAA Mega belt.

Former AEW FTW Champion Brian Cage and the Lucha Brothers featured in tag team action

Brian Cage and Taurus teamed up to take on the Lucha Brothers (Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo) and Hijo Del Vikingo and Laredo Kid for the AAA tag team titles.

This was arguably the best match of the night and packed with action from start to finish. The finishing sequence was stunning as Taurus launched Vikingo off the top rope with a gorilla press slam, Penta delivered a Mexican destroyer to Brian Cage and the Lucha Brothers finished off Vikingo with a double-team piledriver to retain their championships.

Fred Rosser, Rocky Romero, and AEW's Wheeler Yuta vs. TJP, Clark Connors and Ren Narita

Former WWE tag team champion Fred Rosser f.k.a. Darren Young teamed up with Rocky Romero and AEW's Wheeler Yuta to take on TJP, Clark Connors and Ren Narita.

Yuta and co. made a strong start as they worked on Connors and totally isolated him from his partners. Rosser grounded Connors and tagged in Yuta who inflicted further damage on him but a reversal allowed Connors to tag in Narita.

All three men triple teamed Rosser before an all-out brawl broke out. Rocky Romero and Connors had a great back and forth that got the crowd chanting for Romero. Yuta hit Narita with an Angle Slam before Rosser tossed TJP with a suplex.

Connors dropped Romero with a one-handed slam before TJP finished him with a Mamba Splash.

Former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and Yuji Nagata faced The Elite's Good Brothers

Jon Moxley's mystery partner turned out to be Yuji Nagata. Nagata and Moxley wrestled on AEW Dynamite several weeks back.

The match was marred by technical difficulties. Moxley and Anderson got us underway. Anderson tagged in Gallows after trading blows with the former AEW world champion. Mox tagged in Nagata after a few tie-ups with Gallows.

Nagata weakened Gallows with kicks to the hamstring but Gallows brought him down with a kick to the face. The IMPACT Wrestling tag team champions dominated the Japanese legend. Nagata got in a hot tag as both him and Mox locked in the crossface on Gallows and Anderson.

The Good Brothers dropped Mox with a Magic Killer on the outside onto a chair, before Anderson struck Nagata with a Gun Stun. They hit the Magic Killer on Nagata to pick up the win.

The NJPW Resurgence main event featured AEW's Lance Archer against Hiroshi Tanahashi

A rematch from G1 Climax 2019 saw AEW's Murderhawk Monster Lance Archer defend his IWGP US Championship against Hiroshi Tanahashi as former AEW world champion Jon Moxley watched at ringside.

Archer recently won the belt at AEW Fyter Fest when he defeated long-time foe Jon Moxley in his homestate of Texas. It was Archer's first signature win in AEW.

Archer dominated the early proceedings as Tanahashi looked to counter the big man's offense. Tanahashi reversed a scoop slam attempt and attacked Archer's legs.

Archer went for an early chokeslam but Tanahashi powered out before kicking Archer's left hamstring and locking in a submission hold. Archer reversed with a vice grip on Tanahashi's head.

Tanahashi rolled to the outside and Archer dropped him with a rolling senton from the apron. He launched Tanahashi into the barricade. Archer rolled Tanahashi back into the ring and clobbered him in the ring corner with strikes to the head and mid-section.

Archer was utterly dominant as he totally no-sold all of Tanahashi's strikes but Tanahashi countered another chokeslam attempt and attacked Archer's knee to take him down. Tanahashi got a two-count with a 450 splash from the top rope.

Archer planted Tanahashi with a chokeslam on the apron and hit him with the moonsault off the ring ropes. Archer got in the Blackout but Tanahashi got his foot to the bottom rope.

Tanahashi mounted a comeback with a swinging neckbreaker and a slingblade for a nearfall. Tanahashi rammed Archer into a steel chair perched in the ring corner. Tanahashi dropped Archer with a crossbody, followed it up with two body splashes and won the IWGP US Championship for the first time in his career.

After the match, Archer challenged Tanahashi to fight him in AEW.
