Sindhu displayed maturity way beyond her age to defeat World No. 43 Marin Carolina of Spain in the third round 21-7,15-21,21-13. Sindhu showed that her win was no fluke as she thrashed World No. 52 Allegrini Agnese of Italy 21-9,21-14 in the semi finals. In the Finals, Sindhu maintained her composure to put it across her senior compatriot P.C.Tulasi of India 21-11,21-16. Sindhu’s entire Maldives trip and that of her coach for the tournament Md. Siyadath Ullah were funded by OGQ.

Sindhu currently trains at the Gopichand Academy in Hyderabad. OGQ has been supporting her training expenses along with medical, physiotherapy and nutritional support for almost a year now. OGQ also sent 18 year old Sai Praneeth for the Maldives International Badminton Challenge 2011. Sai had a superb tournament and only lost to the World No. 29 and Tournament top seed Pablo Abian in the semi-finals 12-21 21-5 21-12.

OGQ is very proud of the performances of P.V. Sindhu and Sai Praneeth. They are definitely the future of Indian Badminton and potential future Olympic Champions.
