LeBron James' first NBA game had everyone take note that "The Chosen One" was here to stay

LeBron James' first NBA game was incredible. As the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft, the then-Cleveland Cavaliers forward had big expectations put on him, and he did not disappoint.

James was one of the most promising prospects in the history of the league. Even before he entered the professional basketball league, he was nicknamed "The Chosen One," which shows how big the hype was around him.

The rookie had a fantastic season opener against the Sacramento Kings, leading his team in several statistical categories. His first NBA game showed the world what LeBron was capable of and it was the perfect start to a fantastic career.

LeBron James' first NBA game was fantastic

LeBron James' first NBA game took place on Oct. 29, 2003. This was the season opener for the Cleveland Cavaliers, who finished their previous season with only 17 wins.

Their poor record helped them land LeBron, who'd drastically impact the franchise and make the Cavaliers one of the toughest teams in the league. James eventually won the Cavs their first-ever championship, which was simply incredible.

During LeBron James' first NBA game, the Cavaliers rookie had a chance to play against several amazing players, including Vlade Divac and Mike Bibby. The Sacramento Kings also had Peja Stojakovic, an amazing sharpshooter.

James helped the Cavaliers score their first basket of the game. After a minute and a half, the rookie threw an alley-oop pass to Ricky Davis, who dunked the ball.

The young star scored his first NBA points by knocking down a mid-range jump shot with 8 minutes and 56 seconds left in the game. He finished the quarter with 12 points.

It's interesting that most of LeBron's points against the Kings came from jump shots. While he is not a great shooter, James has always been able to catch fire and knock down jump shots.

James led his team with 25 points

The Cleveland Cavaliers entered the second half down by 13 points. However, they did not give up and they fought hard in the third quarter, cutting the lead to just five points before the start of the final quarter.

Unfortunately, for LeBron, he ended up losing his first professional game. In the end, the Kings won 106-92.

While the Cavs opened their season with a loss, LeBron James' performance was spectacular. The rookie put on a fantastic performance on both ends of the floor, making fans excited for what's to come.
