"We're playing free and having fun" - Anthony Davis credits chemistry of new-look LA Lakers after dominant victory over Pelicans

Anthony Davis had nothing but great things to say about his new teammates as the LA Lakers dominated the New Orleans Pelicans in a 123-108 win.

During a post-game interview with Mike Trudell, the Lakers analyst asked AD how he has been doing with the new players in the squad and LeBron James on the sidelines. It appears that Davis is happy with the new Lakers lineup.

Davis said that he's having a good time with his new teammates despite only playing a few games with them. To his surprise, the team's chemistry is already working both on offense and defense. AD emphasized that everything is clicking for the Lakers right now and that he's happy with how things have turned out so far.

"We're just playing," Davis said. "We're playing together; we're playing free and having fun. The guys are making the right plays. We're playing great defensively... We're doing it on the defensive end, and when you play defense in this league, your offense kind of clicks with it."

LA Lakers' late season comeback

It's all smiles and laughter once again in Los Angeles as the LA Lakers have made an impressive comeback late on in the 2022-23 season.

Before the huge Russell Westbrook trade before the All-Star break, the Lakers were struggling to stay afloat in the playoff picture, let alone the play-in tournament. However, things started to change after trading Westbrook for new pieces.

Since Malik Beasley, D'Angelo Russell and Jarred Vanderbilt arrived, the LA Lakers' fortunes have changed for the better. Starting from their first game against the Golden State Warriors on Feb. 11 to Tuesday night (Mar. 14) win over the New Orleans Pelicans, the Lakers have gone 9-4 with their new-look squad.

As a result, LA's postseason hopes are alive again, and it's possible they could clinch a playoff spot if they win most of their remaining games. Anthony Davis and the rest of the new Lakers squad have held down the fort without James. If all goes well and a postseason berth is sealed, LBJ's return could propel the team to a deep playoff run.
