Anderson has been at the forefront of a remarkable turnaround since taking the job in 2022. He has risen up the ranks after spending 12 years as a Division III coach and nine as a Division II coach. Anderson fared excellently in his first stint as a Division I coach, leading FDU to a 21-16 overall and 10-6 conference record, the second-best in the Northeast Conference.

According to Sportslulu, Tobin Anderson earns $40,000 per year as Fairleigh Dickinson's head coach.

“Every part of this, I’ll remember forever.”

Tobin Anderson's hiring has been massive for FDU

Tobin Anderson brought everything to the table when he took over the 4-22 Fairleigh Dickinson as the eighth head coach in university history last year. He led them to a 21-16 winning season. He also coached the team to an NCAA berth, its first since 2019 and only eighth in college history.

Anderson's ball-pressure tactics have been admired by rival teams and coaches. He has implemented that efficiently at FDU. It helped them topple the No. 1 seed Purdue, limiting them to 58 points on 35.8% shooting.

FDU nearly squeezed past Florida Atlantic in the second round to seal its maiden trip to the Sweet 16 before losing 78-70. Tobin Anderson's players led by five points in the second half before FAU stretched its advantage to 10 points with a minute and a half left.

Anderson was proud of his team but insinuated that the team is hungry for more success. Here's what he said following the loss to FAU (via ESPN):

"We went toe to toe with a top-five team in the country, and this team is a top 25 team in the country. We went toe to toe the last few days with two great teams and didn’t back down, didn’t go away. We’re not just happy to be here.”
